We were so surprised how square and straight the whole lot was. They came back the other day after they finished yours to fix up those issues. Poor fellas had a massive day. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14526Mar 08, 2017 11:48 am tapasr_Lexia4 akuma69 Thinking to build a home with granny with beechwood homes. How is everyone's experience so far with them? Once I pay deposit they will do a survey which could possible change the tender price. Are they quite fixed with their pre-deposit tenders or does it change alot after deposit paid? Hi akuma69, yes ours changed after the contour survey was made as apparently the B88 instrument had returned with a 1.5m slope st the back. I did asked as to why the extra expense and they said they need to put drop beam to answer the slope. How much extra was it? And how is beechwoods time frames in general for single story homes? They deliver on time roughly? And their quality? They really have b-a-d reviews on product review website. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14527Mar 08, 2017 1:37 pm tapasr_Lexia4 Grace33 tapasr_Lexia4 Just a quick Q to anyone who can answer me please. When your construction started does your construction loan on interest only? Our loan was split into land loan then construction loan. Also, we've been emailed by our broker that our unconditional loan has been approved (after so many papers being asked not in one batch but we felt like one after another which became so annoying)... Just waiting for some more papers for us to sign which we hope was the last (according to our broker) Just want to ask as well once the bank gives us the green light, what's your experience, did you start straight away...How did you inform Beechwood that it's construction time Sorry guys if you find these questions abit stupid lol Ours is interest only for the duration of the build. We just email the invoice to our broker and she sorts it all out. Cool. Thanks Grace33. We were told by our broker that we need to use our money first then after our deposit for the build is exhausted then that's when the bank comes in. So does that mean that we can call Beechwood now to start construction lol... Yes sorry we did that too. We paid part of the slab to beechwood out of our money. Then the bank took over on the frame. It's roughly around $5K for that contour difference We haven't started our build yet so I can't tell you how long a single storey house normally go for. About the review, if you're reading them and it is dated 2013 and below then just remember that BW was managed by a family that declared bankruptcy due to mismanagement. I can't speak for reviews now, obviously just like any other builders out there, people will make complaints when they are unhappy but how many people would spend time to post a positive review when they are all content with what they receive (human nature) In anything that we do, we arm ourselves in terms of deciding by looking at review but what others might see as a big complaints some might just shrug their shoulder and get on with things... It's all about personal preferences I believe buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 14529Mar 09, 2017 12:38 pm akuma69 Thinking to build a home with granny with beechwood homes. Are they quite fixed with their pre-deposit tenders or does it change alot after deposit paid? We had to do the contour survey prior to tender due to the slope of the block. We had 2 meters over the build area and it cost us approx $15k more as we had to go split level. Tender has, that the garage should be wider by 500mm. We wanted 6000 x 6000 Standard is 5950 x 5500 It's only been made 30mm wider. 5980 x 5500 Price for this is $1700. Can they add the width or are we going to just have to go with the standard size garage? We haven't gone through council yet. Cheers Ok, so today, we just recieved plans back. We have picked exterior, changed to a DA submission so we can keep a reasonable size back yard. Its taken from Jan 25 until today. Only thing I can see now is our fridge cavity. Its only 600 deep. What have people done to get around this? This is the first set of plans with a detailed drawing of our kitchen. I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46192 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
