Browse Forums Windows & Doors Re: Retractable flyscreens for stacker sliding doors 5Mar 04, 2017 11:34 pm I'm in this same predicament, have two triple sliders in our living area and hate the thought of having to look at a screen when they're not in use. Was hoping a retractable screen would be the answer to all my problems but I have 2 small kids and 2 dogs. I'm not so worried about the dogs cos they're angels but the kids would prob have a go at the slider... What exactly would be the problem with kids? Just them being rough? Trying to poke holes in them etc? And to me they look like could poke a pen through... although they might be tougher than they look. The companies say they don't tear... but I am skeptical. I'm still investigating, as I only really want it visible when I have doors open and want air circulation. I've had 3 companies quote. Only 1 I am still considering and want to go to the showroom to see a full door to see its strength. They have variety of retractible screens, one they say is made stronger for pets/kids. I'd like to test it out. We don't have young kids. just young kids visiting. Re: Retractable flyscreens for stacker sliding doors 7Mar 05, 2017 7:01 pm Thanks for the info Gaudi. Please let us know how you go with the testing, be really good to see what you end up going with.
