Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - almost complete 351Feb 27, 2017 10:12 am We haven't had an official inspection yet. One of the niches is holding water and the glue on the shelves looks crap. Another shelf has a bit of a chunk out of it. There was an obvious hole in the plaster which they should fix before PCI. Council didn't want to see any proof of a house. I just told them I was moving in this week and could I please have bins. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - almost complete 355Feb 27, 2017 6:09 pm It seems your builder is rushing you to get away with fixing things. I guess you just need to do your inspection thoroughly as I imagine it would be much harder to call them for maintenance after handover. Im pretty sure they will play with our emotions as they know pretty well we are all excited to get the keys. Btw, who filed for certicate of occupancy? You or builder? Building Simonds Prague in QLD Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - almost complete 356Feb 27, 2017 6:14 pm The builder applied for the certificate of occupancy. I have downloaded the online book "A guide to a new house PCI". I think it will be the best $4 I've spent on the house. Handover has been delayed as some trades haven't been back to finish what they should've. We are fine with the delay. I'm home from hospital today and exhausted after 4 days without sleep. So it gives me a few extra days to get excited and to pack. Also, we are doing our own PCI. The builder wants us to collect a key on Friday and do the inspection over the weekend. Then leave our list of defects in their mailbox with the key! They are very trusting! We are going to get our own stickers. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - almost complete 360Mar 02, 2017 12:23 pm Thanks Horse. I just had a mini freak out. I received a text from the bank to say they had made the final payment to our builder. I requested a cheque so we can hand it over when we are happy. I quickly rang the broker and it turns out there is a cheque waiting for us at the bank. Phew! Anyone knows if a bi-fold door is not fully closing, and it leaves around 3-4mm gap between the frame and the two panels, can it be fixed? The builder said he won’t fix… 47 26201 I second taking your plans elsewhere. They're yours (unless you ended up in one of those cheaper arrangements where you don't own the rights and the build will be tendered… 2 17242 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 43317 |
