We have our colour appointment in 2 weeks, but I don't want to make choices at the appointment and then realise we cant afford it. I'd much rather know all of the costs beforehand so we can select what we would like.
It's going to depend on the size of your home and which bits you choose to upgrade. For example, we chose Cat2 tiles but went almost to the ceiling on the walls shared with the showers, and up to waist height in the powder room - so it's impossible to say how much an upgrade to Cat2 tiles will cost in that case, until the drawings are done and measured. Similarly, square set plaster costs depend on which rooms you want to have done.
The reason HBC can probably offer a schedule of upgrades is because they have very limited plans and selection options.
All up we spent about $100k over the standard price for our Riviera 33, without really doing anything too fancy - aside from the facade and corner treatment like the display in Rockbank.
Your colour appointment will go well if you have a good idea of the levels of finish you want. We went through ten displays taking pictures of what we liked, then got the addenda for each display to find out which categories our choices fell into. I had a list of about half our selections before we went in, and rough costs were given to us on the spot.
Have fun shopping!
