Fingers crossed things change early. dc_1985 Ashik_09 Guys, just have a question regarding the bush fire levy. We have been charged ~$6500 for the bush fire assessment level as we are inside the bush fire zone. There is a good chance it might get removed before we start building. my question is, would we get the credit back from PD once the bush fire assessment is removed? how has it worked for you guys? I have been told by a friend their builder did not give them the credit until he threatened to sue them!!! I don't want to do through the same process which is going to be painful and stressful on top of this build!! What stage are you at with your build? We received notification we were no longer in a BAL area just before our tender appointment, so we were lucky we could have this removed. For updates check the link below, if your still in a BAL area maybe get in contact with them directly. I did and they were able to confirm changes to the BAL areas. http://services.land.vic.gov.au/maps/bushfire.jsp Sorry i am not sure, it's best to check with your BC. Luckily ours was taken off prior to our tender. Definitely get in touch with land channel on the link above, they updated me on the progress. They were very helpful and will should give you more information on if your area will be mapped into a none BAL area and when.[/quote] Re: Porter Davis homes 14177Feb 08, 2017 5:09 pm Ashik_09 Guys, just have a question regarding the bush fire levy. Our BAL Zone changed just before then so the fee was removed before we had gotten too far into the process. Re: Porter Davis homes 14178Feb 08, 2017 7:01 pm lizbf85 nikil Well our original soil report said no screw piles required but when we got to tender they had screw piles I didn't question it at the time because I didn't realise they were in there but I will be questioning it. No mention of anything about LPOD so I'm assuming that's ok. Yeh i guess we were the same, the initial spoil doesnt say alot, at tender we had a note to say that we 'may' require screw piles so we took that as we would need screw piles haha sure enough. Your building the Vancouver aren't you, sorry i have forgotten. I believe our slab was about $35k and services was about $3 we might have just needed more screw piles becasue ours went up by a few thousand at contract for that reason. yeh the LPOD was a huge issue for us, that's all looked at when they assess it for a rebuild, and found that our pit was too shallow, therefore it took 8 weeks to resolve with council, and engineers to create a fix. costing us $11K WE are just hoping that it all runs smootly today when they complete there work and connect it. Yea I'm sure once we get to contract the screw piles will be in there, I'm just hoping there's no other surprises as we are at the top of our budget now. Yes we're building the Vancouver 33. Oh i thought that tender reffered to the scre piles already. Id also study the slab plans once u get ur docs because we looked at tender and contract and noticed steel taken from the final plans but no credits.. funny that! We questioned and got a "oh sorry" heres ur credit. U gotta study everything!! Yep thats right Re: Porter Davis homes 14180Feb 08, 2017 8:40 pm We received some pretty disappointing news today. And honestly just expected it based on such a horrible experience so far.... it seems our pci and even handover at this point will be delayed for an unknown time due to a permit for our lpod... We are fed up and i honestly broke down today when i read the email. For months weve been following this up with our ss to ensure it was on track as we knew that if anything this could potentially hold us up like it did before our contract. We continue to get emails saying its been followed up. Clearly no actual action or care was taken just another forwarded email. Pd really are unbelievable!!!! Kdr specialists hahaha please!!! We are hoping like anything this permit was done in the process of getting our lpod through council all those months ago and this is already held... if not they can expect some pretty furious customers. ABSOLUTELY OVER THIS NIGHTMARE!!!! After this is over and if it ever ends its fair to say i would be never ever be recommending PD to a single soul.. it should be illegal to put customers through this amount of stress and hell for 13 months.. . Three options 1 Ask the liquidator 2 Find another PD customer and ask the source of their report 3 Pay for new report 3 14151 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 110979 Hi there!
