I think there was someone else on here a year or so ago that had issues and they just couldn't live in the house. Yes, selling with small children is challenging! Plus also then you would need to find a new home. Hopefully the tribunal come help you come to a resolution and you will be able to start enjoying your home. Thank you everyone for your posts and blogs, I've found them to be very helpful in getting through this process! It's been a very stressful process! We have signed and paid our plan preparation fee back in November. We have a 120 day tender period, but now, more than 2 months later, the DA people mentioned that they have just recently received the Architectural plans. The only thing we have done so far is to complete the external finishes sheet. Does it usually take this long to get things going? Also, did anyone build skylights with Masterton? We were quoted $7,800 for 3 panels, which seems a bit much! We were quoted $7,800 for 3 panels, which seems a bit much! We got them for around 1,800 each, but I guess it may depend if they are openable or not, the size and features. Yet, 7800 for 3 of them looks expensive to me. It may take even longer. I would suggest if you decide to go ahead and sign the contract with M negotiate a fixed tender extension fee (e.g. 900 per month). So if your tender runs out, you would have some predictable price increase. We paid around 15,000 extra and our second tender (from contract signed to start of the build) took 10! months instead of allowed 90 days. Don't buy into "we will credit any Masterton delays to your tender", as you may end up getting: "this is not a delay, but our standard processing time" (this is what they told me after 10! months in pre-construction. If they won't budge, I would suggest just walk away. Plan preparation fee is nothing compared to the unexpected costs you may have to pay later. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13238Jan 31, 2017 1:01 pm Fisher75 so sorry to hear about your experience. I can't believe you paid $15,000 extra, that is ridiculous! Thank you for your tips, I will definitely ask try to negotiate a fixed tender extension fee. I really thought if we could save time now, we can add it to the post-tender period but this probably rarely happens, if at all.
