Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13226Jan 30, 2017 6:49 pm We had one side of our fence go up today very happy with our installer. Very genuine aussie bloke. He even noticed a piece of rio sticking out of the ground and advised me and placed a brick on it so my little one wouldn't hurt herself when we move in. A job masterton should have removed it already when they cleaned up site. Guess they never even walked on that side Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13227Jan 30, 2017 7:32 pm Fisher, I haven't used Nakaw but know of others who have used it. http://herlihy-riva.blogspot.com.au/sea ... -results=7 Has some photos of before and after. We had PCI on 11th of November, got the keys on 28th of November. But I had to push hard for it and even brought OFT on site. Thanks Fisher75 have not seen you on here for a little while how is the new place going. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13229Jan 30, 2017 7:55 pm Fisher Nepean were the cheapest we had a good installer but one lot was measured short but it was replaced at no cost in a relatively short time. I think it depends who you get allocated. Much like Masterton I suppose... Sandra your neighbour thought Str8 Up were expensive? Be careful as we've had neighbours complain that the wood warps and discolours quickly with some of the cheaper options. Some have had to replace their lap and cap fences already https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13230Jan 30, 2017 8:00 pm MGardz Fisher Nepean were the cheapest we had a good installer but one lot was measured short but it was replaced at no cost in a relatively short time. Some have had to replace their lap and cap fences already https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ He was only $300 cheaper than st8 but neighbour had a whinge that he told him he was on the lower side so he should do a retaining wall and level properly b4 we erect fence or at least level his side first. He would not go with him then. So after 3 more quotes i found Michael. Mohammed was also great to me but hard when you have to please a neighbour also. I have called Nepean for a quote but they dont wanna do rough price on my m measurements they want to come out so i have to wait now 4 keys. Thanks Fisher75 have not seen you on here for a little while how is the new place going. Yeah, been very busy. Moved in on 18th of December. Thanks God we had Christmas break, otherwise I would have to take time of work. A lot to do for ourselves, lots of defects. Even after moving in I regret building with M. The two positives are we no longer pay rent and we have a proper AC. With a newborn baby it would be hard to be in our rental with 2 portable ACs. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13232Jan 31, 2017 10:29 am Sorry to hear that you aren't happy with your new house. At least your air con is good! Are you planning on staying there or do you expect to sell and move? Selling it won't undo all the pain I went through building with M. Moving again is not on our plans as we have little kids, one is newborn. Selling it just to "show them" is not my style. Would rather take them to the Tribunal and get some compensation. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13234Jan 31, 2017 10:42 am Just thought there may have been so many issues (both current and during the build) that maybe you just don't want to be there anymore...... I think there was someone else on here a year or so ago that had issues and they just couldn't live in the house. Yes, selling with small children is challenging! Plus also then you would need to find a new home. Hopefully the tribunal come help you come to a resolution and you will be able to start enjoying your home. Some have different experiences which I noticed depends alot on on the supervisor you get ours was an ####### . Good luck with everything and congrats on the new baby KDR. Thank you everyone for your posts and blogs, I've found them to be very helpful in getting through this process! It's been a very stressful process! We have signed and paid our plan preparation fee back in November. We have a 120 day tender period, but now, more than 2 months later, the DA people mentioned that they have just recently received the Architectural plans. The only thing we have done so far is to complete the external finishes sheet. Does it usually take this long to get things going? Also, did anyone build skylights with Masterton? We were quoted $7,800 for 3 panels, which seems a bit much! We were quoted $7,800 for 3 panels, which seems a bit much! We got them for around 1,800 each, but I guess it may depend if they are openable or not, the size and features. Yet, 7800 for 3 of them looks expensive to me. It may take even longer. I would suggest if you decide to go ahead and sign the contract with M negotiate a fixed tender extension fee (e.g. 900 per month). So if your tender runs out, you would have some predictable price increase. We paid around 15,000 extra and our second tender (from contract signed to start of the build) took 10! months instead of allowed 90 days. Don't buy into "we will credit any Masterton delays to your tender", as you may end up getting: "this is not a delay, but our standard processing time" (this is what they told me after 10! months in pre-construction. If they won't budge, I would suggest just walk away. Plan preparation fee is nothing compared to the unexpected costs you may have to pay later. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13238Jan 31, 2017 1:01 pm Fisher75 so sorry to hear about your experience. I can't believe you paid $15,000 extra, that is ridiculous! Thank you for your tips, I will definitely ask try to negotiate a fixed tender extension fee. I really thought if we could save time now, we can add it to the post-tender period but this probably rarely happens, if at all.
