Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13214Jan 30, 2017 10:55 am Hi Everyone, Haven't posted for a while, as we were busy settling in and chasing lots of issues and the work we need to do ourselves. One of them was the brick colour variation I posted about long ago (I've attached a photo to remind). I remember few other people had the problem, so I thought I would share what I found out. I am still waiting for PGH bricks to come on site. It looks like apart from rendering the whole thing (we have too many of them with the wrong colour) we can use a company like http://nawkaw.com.au/, who can change the color of the bricks to whatever you want. They offer 25 years warranty and claim that the stain sits deep in the brick, so it won't fade. I will let everyone know how I go with PGH bricks site visit and how that brick colouring will play out (if I can get Masterton to pay for it). If by any chance someone already used a company like this, please share how much did it cost and if you were happy with the outcome. Hope everyone who recently moved in, really enjoyed celebrating Christmas and New Year in their new homes ... for the rest of us, well ... surely 2017 will bring with it the completion of our amazing homes. S-VE - Were you the one talking up Vision Blinds? I've just come from a showroom where they are on display, and I am ultra impressed. I'm thinking about putting them over my two sets of glass sliding doors. Where did you have them installed? Are you happy with them? What company did you use? I would also be interested, as I am currently looking to get the shutters, blinds and fly screens done. I remember a few people were suggesting Nepean Blinds, but I looked up their reviews and it scared me off a bit. Their reviews are even worse than Masterton's. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13216Jan 30, 2017 11:05 am Congrats Sandra ???☺your house is lovely . Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13217Jan 30, 2017 11:34 am rainbow05 Congrats Sandra 🎉🎆🏡☺your house is lovely . I will definitely take your advice for that inspector. About the fence how much they cost you per metre I also like the sleepers timber underneath are they expensive? Thank you I have attached my quote. I got 5 quotes all up as my neighbour thought st8 was expensive. I did like the guy but trying to keep neighbour happy was my main concern. so glad i found michael from liverpool fencing he also was honest like MCGraths fencer but we went with Michael as he was cheaper and he has done a great job. My neighbour on the install day decided he then wanted 200mn sleepers instead of 400mm so fence price was adjusted to $2000. So sleepers all the way along only cost $350. 25 meters. I am not a fan of treated sleepers they are coated in arsenic but my neighbour wanted cheaper way. I will do my own brick retaining wall in front of it at a later stage. We are looking at November for completion and we have only just had our site scrape ...ahrhhrhr! Not likely to happen, as if they see they are going ahead of time while having other builds running late, they will put a hold on "early" build and focus on the late one. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 13219Jan 30, 2017 1:29 pm sandra 2016 After PCI how long do you normally wait for keys just need to give 3 weeks notice on my rental property. We had PCI on 11th of November, got the keys on 28th of November. Another question...is it normal for the slab to be so high?? Having a little panic about the amount of fill we will need to level and raise the land... Or do the bricks start from the small extra ridge around the slab I can see? So the bricks actually go around and up the slab? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The bricks will start from the little ridge, but It should not be normal for the ridge to go above natural ground level. They did it to us too. Ours goes around 200mm higher on the back side of the house. So, they pushed about 200mm of dirt to cover it up. Our tender clearly states that the bricks should start at the natural ground level, the same says the council DA approval. It looks like they are cutting corners and I will be taking them to the Tribunal over this. 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks 4 16862 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16130 Hi all I am looking to run a water line under my concrete footpath which is directly next to my home, was seeing if this is possible without cutting the entire section… 0 20302 |
