Browse Forums Lighting + Lighting Design 1 Jan 24, 2017 1:36 pm HI, I'm hoping someone can help.... I had ordered all my downlights and have just been told that they are on back order and won't be in until mid March. My lights are getting fitted in a few weeks and I need a replacement ASAP. I did have the Domus Deep 90 and I am looking to use these instead http://www.trendlighting.com.au/product/RDA8 but cannot find any info online about how they compare to the Domus. I realise the Domus was probably a much better light but my budget is up to $50. (The Domus were on sale for for $51) Can anyone give any feedback on the alternate light or perhaps another suggestion? We want anti-glare and gimble and a decent light output as these will be throughout living areas with 2.7 ceilings. The cutout has already been made to suit the 90mm cutout of the Domus so can't be smaller than that. Thanks so much. Re: Urgent help with downlights please! 3Jan 30, 2017 1:08 pm So sorry. I linked the the wrong size. http://www.trendlighting.com.au/product/RDC8 And the current ones on back order https://onlinelighting.com.au/deep-90-r ... e-led.html Re: Urgent help with downlights please! 4Jan 30, 2017 1:18 pm $50 for a downlight??? It is the same as their commercial grade miniled, but just has a lower cost LED chip and driver (which is fine because domestic use is not as intensive as commercial use). I would go the Trend over the Domus. Both are good but I rate the Trend higher. Plus Trend is an Australian company and their products are assembled in Australia. Yes Bruce there are cheap downlights around, but they are glarey, have poor colour rendition, and are just awful. Paying a little bit extra to get a good quality downlight with optical reflectors males all the difference to the result. Good to see the OP putting some thought in their lighting selections and not just looking for the cheapest, nastiest products.
