Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - plaster completed 263Jan 17, 2017 6:58 pm Yeah it's not till things are installed do you notice things like that. But great progress. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - plaster completed 265Jan 17, 2017 10:23 pm gotcha.. the left side might be ok but the right side will be a pain.. I checked my bathroom (current house) there is a gap but they tiled it (very small piece of tile) so if water drips from the vanity it will go into bath not in the gap. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - cabinets in and tiling compl 266Jan 18, 2017 4:00 pm Thanks Horse. We had a huge deck at our old house so a big alfresco was important for us. My husband is planning on buying a spa in a few years and putting it outside our bedroom. We have TV point on the wall in the alfresco so he is going to sit in the spa and watch TV. It will be a while before we get a spa. There are a few other things that will need to be done first. The grout was finished today and 90% of the architraves are done. I didn't take my phone so I don't have any photos. The grout in the splashback really makes a difference to the colour of the tiles. They look great. Also the niches are done and I think they look great as the back of the niche is one piece of tile and no joins. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - cabinets in and tiling compl 267Jan 18, 2017 8:00 pm I couldn't help myself. I went back for photos. Hopefully the next lot of fitoffs go just as quick for you. Re: Our New Home in Gippsland - cabinets in and tiling compl 269Jan 19, 2017 8:31 pm Thanks Craig. Not much happened today. They cleaned up and finished the architraves. We received our fit out invoice. They sure are quick to get them out. We don't have a handover date or PCI but I've estimated 8 weeks from last Friday which is the 10th of March. Our contract gives them until May but I think it will be finished in March. My current lease will expire first week of April so really hoping we could move before then. Ours is monthly so I just have to let them know when we are a month away. In other news, I emailed our estimator about when the WIR would be fitted out as we have received invoice and it hasn't been done yet. He said it would be done after painting and asked how I wanted it done. I added another set of shelves. Anyway, since we were having such a good email conversation this morning with quick replies I thought I'd ask about an estimated finishing time. I was expecting a vague response like the last time I asked about what was happening and when. But I received a response that said as a rough guide, handover is looking to be late February!!!! So exciting. That's only 5 or 6 weeks to go. I'm going to China on 30 March so it will be awesome to have a few weeks to unpack and get settled before then. I have run out of boxes. I'm a teacher so I have a week before I officially go back to work to do some more packing. I am also trying to get ready for the new school year so I have a busy week ahead.
