Browse Forums General Discussion 1 Dec 19, 2016 9:16 am I recently had 12mm plywood and 15mm Oak tongue and groove floorboards installed in my home. This went over white tiles - so the plywood drilled into the tiles. Its been 2 months and the floors are squeaking – which is not common for these floorings as they are glued down – assuming it would be the plywood rubbing. Do all Timber floor installers carry a 7 year warranty by law? If so, has anyone experienced this before and how easy is it to pull up oak boards to re fix the plywood underneath? Any help or advice would be great Re: OAK FLOORBOARDs AND ISSUES WITH SUB FLOOR 2Dec 19, 2016 7:05 pm I don't think tradesman or companies should be installing flooring over tiles, that's just my opinion. Can you check your quote or invoice if there is any mention of warranty? The flooring can be repaired, it's a bit messy and fiddly but possible Re: OAK FLOORBOARDs AND ISSUES WITH SUB FLOOR 4Dec 19, 2016 8:30 pm Ok, maybe gather all the information regarding your problem and ring the person or company and see what they say, get them onsite to inspect. If that fails, maybe take it to the next level and write something formal with notice you will be taking the matter higher up to the authority who controls and oversees building work in your state and see what happens from that. Or you wipe your hands of whoever installed the flooring and get it repaired by someone else and hope that everywhere else will be ok Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1. optional, you can but normally just use the earth from the main switch board 2. should be enough but the distance determines voltage drop - sparky should work it… 1 28761 Hi All New to the forum and looking for some advice, has anyone else renovated an old miners cottage in or around Ballarat and been able to identify the flooring?
