Has anyone asked Beechwood Homes for polished Porcelain Tiles 600×600 upgrades? Any idea? This is all done through the tile company. Beechwood doesn't deal with this selection. I know we had a price of $27.50 per square metre as the standard price for tiling throughout the whole house. Any tile you chose that is over the $27.50 you pay the difference to the tile company. Hope this helps Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13784Nov 10, 2016 8:19 pm Verdehlo5 Sparkie Hey Guys, Happy to see u all going well with your journey. Just a quick question. Super impressed with our bank too, the valuer walked through while we were there & I only gave them the final invoice 2 days ago! Now we wait for the cheque & keys then it's all ours!! Just a quick question. Has anyone asked Beechwood Homes for polished Porcelain Tiles 600×600 upgrades? Any idea? Sparkie the same for us we went to Beaumont Tiles who beechwood use thinking that there wasn't going to be much of a range in the standard.. However was amazed with the selection they had. Anything extra Beaumont invoiced directly Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13789Nov 11, 2016 11:05 am Tom2016 Sparkie Hey Guys, Happy to see u all going well with your journey. Anything extra Beaumont invoiced directly Certainly is a huge range from Beaumont. We didn't upgrade though as the ones we liked were standard. I'm actually meeting with our tiler this evening onsite to make sure we are on the same page with what we want and what he does. We had friends build (not BH) that were set back 3 months as a result of incorrect tiles and incompetent tilers who continued to tile the wrong tiles 3 times despite being told it was wrong. We at least know we have the correct tiles onsite, so now just need to make sure they are put where we want. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13790Nov 11, 2016 11:12 am Moscato5 Tom2016 Sparkie Hey Guys, Happy to see u all going well with your journey. My wife will be ensuring that they are laid the correct way otherwise it will look horrible. Beaumont seem very switched on so I don't think it will be to much of a problem. Yeah not good about your friends delays.. It's hard you don't want to et to involved but if you don't it's either wrong or delayed.. Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13791Nov 11, 2016 11:22 am Moscato5 jonesyGT We've been quoted for fixed price piering. Does that sound right. What's the cost per square meter for piering? Cheers This should be listed in your clauses at the end of the tender. Ours is $65/lineal metre. We were tendered 90m but only used ?65. So on the last invoice the difference will be credited. Moscato we were unaware about credit costs for un used such as piering was there any others? how did you find they used the provisional costs?? Was it documented when and for how much it was used for was it just deducted Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13792Nov 11, 2016 11:36 am Tom2016 Moscato5 Tom2016 [quote="Sparkie"]Hey Guys, Happy to see u all going well with your journey. They wanted to charge extra to offset the tiles so ours will just be stacked. Not ideal, but wasn't keen to pay the extra when they are doing the same job. Oh well. I'm sure it will still look ok. So far we are happy with their service. Always approachable. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13793Nov 11, 2016 11:40 am Tom2016 Moscato5 jonesyGT We've been quoted for fixed price piering. We know we went under with piering. However we went over with excavation/removal of excess soil. We got a phone call and email to confirm we were happy to use the provisional allowance and pay the excess. We still have 2 provisional allowances which we've heard nothing about so hoping they will be refunded. 20/11/15 - Settled land 06/11/15 - Request 1st tender BH 21/04/16 - Colour Selections and Contracts Signed 31/05/16 - Commencement Letter 24/06.16 - Started work onsite - cut and benching begun Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13794Nov 11, 2016 12:31 pm Verdehlo5 Sparkie Hey Guys, Happy to see u all going well with your journey. Do you mean we have to pay them directly from our pocket or extra cost can be covered under construction loan? Do you mean we have to pay them directly from our pocket or extra cost can be covered under construction loan? Sorry Sparkie! I believe that you can talk to the tile company that you decide to go through and they can send the tile selection and invoice to Beechwood to add as a variation to your tender. This does all depend on what your pre approval amount is from the bank and if it still keeps you under that approval amount. We were told it would be easier and quicker to just pay the tile company directly, which we did. We went through Tiles Direct ended up spending an extra $2500 in tiling. They did a great job. We had a walk through with SS today so i was able to get some pics to share. I will upload them Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13797Nov 11, 2016 1:56 pm I didn't originally want these bricks, I had my heart set on a grey brick but the ones I liked were extra... I didn't see the point of paying so much more for a different brick colour when I knew I wanted updates of other things plus there's no loan for my house so I had to keep within a strict budget. I actually found this forum & spent 3 days flicking through all the photos people had posted of their builds because I had no idea what colour I was gonna pick... after 3 sleepless nights ( hundreds of pages of this forum) I found someone who had picked the monument roof & gutters & they had used the blackbutt brick. I also found out that the brick company had a list of addresses of people building with each of their brick colours... so we drove around to all the addresses to see other builds with the blackbutt. I'm so happy with this colour but at the same time I was so scared of going with a black brick. Moscato5, when you say it's from the standard range, what size is it and what colour you choose. We were thinking of to Beaumont tiles well in Picton but Helen from BW said that since our build is until 2017 she said we might have to pick two or three choices just case ones we set our heart in might get discontinued . Can we see your tiles Moscato if can. Thanks buildingourhumblehome.blogspot.com.au Re: Who is building with Beechwood 13800Nov 11, 2016 7:22 pm Tiling started today for us! Plus water tank installed.
