Re: Metricon Glendale 37+ 308Nov 04, 2016 2:30 pm Our new SM is great! Whilst we were away M "requested" he stop work until we paid frame invoice even though the defects hadn't been fixed! After some sensible conversations over email, we agreed to pay the invoice and today at a really good site catch up he told us he'd not stopped any work as he knew the defects needed to be sorted out. Brick cleaning in full operation today and planning on upper roof evens and down pipes over the next two weeks so scaffold can come down. Just wondering has anyone used a drone to inspect their roof or build site? Our neighbours have a good view of our roof so seems to be in good order but I may try and get my drone out to do a fly by just as long as I don't crash it into the house! Orpheus has a great drone video of his roof I hope we flying skills can match his. Last two weeks we managed to get evas in and painted and front render done. Next two weeks is meant to be downpipes, and scaffold removal and site clean. Then there's lower. Roofs to do and hopefully lock up in time for xmas or am I dreaming. What's likely after that? SM did say that trades had started to slack off in xmas run in but he's hopeful of pushing the work along. Those guys live hand to mouth. xmas is a big spend time and they'll also be outta work for 3 weeks. More likely there is a list of homes they need to have finished by xmas and are sending the trades there so they can be completed. My mates are tradies, the problem for them is all the public holidays and big companies just shut down so therefore there is a drop in jobs being ordered. True if they were getting jobs consistently they would work. But they get smashed for jobs Jan onwards. So you are correct they rush to get all their existing jobs completed to get paid to have cash over Xmas. Obviously we aren't meant to have been on site let alone up the scaff. How do we call this out to our SM? We want them fixed. Pictures to follow shortly.
