Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 163Oct 22, 2016 7:22 pm Had our site meeting on Thursday for tiling. The shower seat hadn't been done as they didn't read plans properly so are going back to do it next week. Not so sure about our tile choices now. All of the cupboard doors are getting replaced after handover as redink couldn't supply what we wanted within our budget. And our carport slab was done too. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 165Oct 22, 2016 8:25 pm Don't quote me, but when they do your shower seat, make sure they do a whole new water proofing membrane for the whole area. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 166Oct 22, 2016 8:35 pm I thought of that, will make sure we get confirmation. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 167Oct 22, 2016 10:59 pm Your tile choices look beautiful. Especially love the light grey ones in the bathroom. Can't wait to see some pics of it completed. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 173Nov 24, 2016 2:17 am Hiya, Sorry we have been missing in action - seems to have been a lot of stuff to do and yet we dont seem to be much further along. Got our building envelope relocation approved - what a mission! and there have been a few stuff ups with Redink along the way - still no final drawings or contract - hoping for that by Friday this week. So our hopes for a slab before Christmas are dashed, I am hoping you are a long way along now Teresa . Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 174Nov 24, 2016 9:06 am Oh that's too bad! I hope it gets sorted out really quickly for you 😊 once we had slab down, redink moved very quickly. We are almost at practical completion stage with the builder doing their final inspection and then it's our turn. Very hit and miss for a Christmas move but we just don't know yet. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 177Nov 29, 2016 10:46 pm As long as it's sorted before final contract it doesn't cost more, not with redink anyway. The taps were in the normal selections too. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 178Nov 29, 2016 11:01 pm Small update we are waiting for the supervisor to do their inspection, and then it's over to us for pci. We found that the shower screen in the master is opaque and we wanted clear, and some of the windows on the front don't appear to be put in correctly or fit, so those are the main things that we have noticed. Also redink are saying we need to organise plumbing for our shws and electric connection to the atu, which we thought they were doing. The biggest headache we have had has been the fact that redink do not explain anything, they expect you to know it all. It's not like we have any money to throw around, let alone with such short notice. It was exciting to see our landscaper had started our retaining wall too, redink told us off for them being on site, but we thought they were only dropping off the rock, so there is not a lot we can do about that. Im still holding hopes that we get handover before Xmas. It amazes me how the builders are like oh you need to do this why haven't you organised... They build houses everyday not use if we need to do something let us know with enough lead time. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 19956 For reference, this is the Austlii reference. My take on this is, that they would be breaking the law denying access to a homeowner in Victoria, or their agent from having… 1 10252 2 6652 |
