The chemical barrier you have to keep getting topped up. The physical barrier is more permanent and doesn't have the upkeep.
They emailed the documents yesterday but they wrote it the wrong way around - waiting for a new batch of docs again.

These are pictures of the frame where, exactly as you have described, the slab is to small... Make up some more concrete for that corner? Thats a really good question... i emailed my SS today and his reply (word for word) "we have known about this for a while and a rectification detail has already been designed by an engineer and works to rectify the overhang will begin shortly." ...Whatever that means!! I will post some pics when i know what they are talking about... They completed most of the roof installation today and i think they should be done by friday with framing... So if two of you have had a slab too small does that mean the slab size in their database is incorrect? Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 94Oct 13, 2016 6:53 pm Waldorf_Grange_Build So if two of you have had a slab too small does that mean the slab size in their database is incorrect? That's a really good question... I spoke with my SS today (he seems really good at this stage ) he said that this is a normal occurrence and he has explained to me that the way the engineer has said to fix it is to drill into the existing slab and place large concrete pins and more reinforcing bar then they re concrete it so it basically becomes part of the original slab... On Another note, i called Stegbar today and asked as to what had been delivered to my property, according to them the windows delivered do NOT have the low-e Glazing, they are 4mm Safety glass, 12mm air gap, 4mm safety glass. So when i spoke to my SS i told him and he said they would work it out.. He isn't sure if they will send new windows or just re place them on site.. <--- this is something i would look into Waldorf_grange_build when you get to site as if i didn't say anything they would have just installed the ones without the Low-e. I will be interested which ones they give us when they do the order of the new ones as Stegbar have MANY types... Stegbar Low-e Brochure Stegbar Window efficiency ratings 2 More issue that require rectification:

It is a bit disconcerting that already so early in the build you have had multiple problems. Does this mean we have to be double checking and triple checking everything ourselves throughout the build? Lucky you checked about the glass but such a shame to hear no one else would have noticed unless you intervened. Re: Building the Waldorf Grange by Porter Davis 96Oct 15, 2016 3:10 pm so what is this e glass? was it in a promo? how do i know if i have it or not? assuming we are on the same promos as our houses are at similar stages, we are building a normal waldorf though not the grange but the promos for the prestige were the same... I'm hoping I don't have to look this closely at everything but if the problems so far are anything to go by then I guess I will have to... Darbecca stopped at 40 errors because "it is clear that no quality control has been performed on the frame" and that "this frame has an above average amount of compliance issues." Not to mention in big bold red writing it says reinspection required because it doesn't meet the engineers specifications.... This is beyond a joke!! I will update the blog later I'm just really annoyed at the moment... Edit: also they have said the frame is complete and have the audacity to send me an invoice...
