We have very similar choices I hate the red tone in jarrah... Reminds me of my parents old furniture love the black stain... What a difference Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 370Sep 23, 2016 12:35 am hrvat_ica Btw, how high is your ceiling in the bathroom?? That's a lot of tiling to the top Yes, that's the original bathroom which is now the guest bathroom. The ceiling is a silly 3.2m Perhaps I should have lowered it to save on tiling. I know what you mean about jarrah.....I love timber but mainly walnut or oak. Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 371Sep 23, 2016 7:25 am The bathrooms came up beautifully! And wooooooow!! That stain is amazing! I think I'm going to ask my painters to use that. It's exactly the look I wanted! C U S T O M. C O R A L. All of them in satin enamel in Dulux lexicon 1/4. The negative detail on the frames looks good. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Next job is the front door. I had the luxury of cleaning my house this long weekend, which would save me $1500. BUT, I also discovered how badly my tiler grouted the tiles. With your shower corners, from where your wall tiles hit the floor tiles, will that remain grouted/cemented? Or will you silicone that joint? My builder said grouted, but I've also hear of ppl siliconing that area. What are you going with? Carpets go in on Monday and we move in on the 14th. Lots of things to finish after we move in though. Regarding tiles. Our downstairs is grouted while upstairs is siliconed. Our upstairs is timber framed and hence more chance of movement and therefore the requirement for silicone. I believe the code on brick houses doesn't require silicone corners. OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 378Oct 04, 2016 10:41 pm I'm going to attach pressed tin against the rear wall of our bedroom tomorrow . The first step was to attach 18mm ply to which I'm going to glue and nail the tin on. Then I'll etch it and paint it in lexicon white. Preparation is tonight. I've never played with tin so I'm slightly nervous about it. - seems to be the theme of our build Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: OB Project - "New vs Old" - Nedlands, WA 380Oct 05, 2016 7:40 pm I love it!
