Feel free to PM me asking any specific questions, i wouldn't hesitate recommending our sales rep too - he really looked after us. We got notification of PCI from Monday the 19th of sept onwards..... where has the time gone! PCI is next week! We popped down last weekend and the carpets were down and the cleaners were in so we managed to go have a sticky beak... a few minor things to still be done like rangehood and final electrical switchboard wiring but wow time flies... I'll be able to control lights from my phone or the various smart switches around the house and also have schedules to turn them on and off automatically and have "time of day" scenes... I.e. When I wake up in the morning before Erin the bedroom lights will default to very dim.... But I'll post more about all that when I install it after handover. Re: Smart Homes - The Mentor (Tiling, Driveway, Painted Rend 105Sep 19, 2016 12:40 am I'm using a system called Helvar, normally found in commercial buildings but can be used in residential too but would normally be cost prohibitive for most residential buildings unless you've got dosh... Generally found in designer buildings as such.... Our company also is the longest running and most knowledgeable Philips dynalite (another automation product) installer and commissioning agents in Perth. I'll do a proper write up after handover as we're installing it, as it does require some re-wiring from what the builder has done for lights. I've got dimmer modules for all my down lights and pendants and relay modules for exhaust fans and non dimming lights. The best part is Motion sensors in the pantry, store, WIL, WIR and both toilets - convenient and energy efficient as the lights will turn on and off automatically. The Motion sensors and button panels use a control standard called DALI which is fairly new but is very popular in commercial fitouts as you can intermix light fittings from different manufactures and it's all compatible. The other benefit of DALI is the control cable is just 1.5mm twin core TPS so very easy for sparkies and allows convenient retrofitting of button panels if you don't have conduits as you can use the existing cable chased down the wall. Re: Smart Homes - The Mentor (Tiling, Driveway, Painted Rend 108Oct 01, 2016 10:00 pm We had PCI on Friday the 23rd. Went well, we had a building inspector do the rounds with us. There was a list, but most of it was things we were telling the builder about way before PCI. We have a new site supervisor, our previous one left the company so I'm assuming he was letting things slip. Fingers crossed handover around the 13th - but still waiting on a date from the builder. We can't wait! Re: Smart Homes - The Mentor (Tiling, Driveway, Painted Rend 110Oct 01, 2016 10:29 pm Unfortunately we were too busy that we completely forgot pics.... The only one I got was at the end with the garage door down. Re: Smart Homes - The Mentor (PCI done / Keys Friday) 118Oct 15, 2016 11:36 am Congratulations on your keys! Re: Smart Homes - The Mentor (PCI done / Keys Friday) 120Oct 29, 2016 2:03 pm Hi Everyone. Apologies for not being around - I'm sure everyone understands - moving house is draining and trying at the best of times. We've got everything in the new place, its slowly going from chaos to organised chaos. I haven't had a chance to get my sparky to do the lighting for us yet - no photos until it's done So we've been sealing and painting the walls since we had keys, and have started to hang cabintry on the walls etc. but has anyone had an issue with the paint not sticking to the plaster? we've sealed with Taubmans Prep Right oil based, waited a few days for it to dry and then gone 2 coats over with Taubmans Endure. it's been 5 days since we did a particular wall, and we went to hang cupboards and used masking tape to mark up the drill holes, when we went to remove the masking tape after drilling the paint came straight off - back to plaster! has anyone else had this happen? I ran into trouble finding a lock that would fit my particular door, like your situation with your pivot door. I wanted a safe lock that couldn't be messed with easily. 4 25683 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds.
