I finally have my color selection Thursday week. I have in my mind and also pictures from magazines etc what I like, so that part doesn't stress me too much. What does stress me is the order in which you pick things. ie we will have a white kitchen, bathrooms fairly neutral. It's the floor and paint questions. The builder wants me to pick wall color then floor. I would have thought it'd be easier to do the other way round??? (more paint colors than floor colors?) So far I like this kitchen (basically the same layout as ours) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'd like Hogsbristle on the walls (have to pick Wattyl but will still say this). Floors are a problem - thought we'd go tiles, because of $$$. But might be ok with wooden floors as I've found a supplier who does them cheaper (thanks Sammy). Do I need to decide floors first? Aren't you glad you asked Mich! Still not in. Don't ask!? Re: Who’s got a question?? 6Feb 03, 2009 6:56 pm bel Yep me again...... I finally have my color selection Thursday week. Aren't you glad you asked Mich! I always work with the main flow colour of the wall paint first. So paint first, and then match that with flooring. Timber is a different thing, timber goes with anything, if you choose tiles, you will need to either make a statement from their colour, or blend them in with the wall colour. Hog is a good all round colour, you shouldn’t find it hard to match Hog with a floor tile. But remember with the Hog wall, you will have a very different look to that photo. Is this what you are after? Bel….your always a pleasure to help. The picture shows what I like in terms of cabinets/benchtop. I do prefer a bit of color on the wall. Our last place had Ecru walls, white watsonia trim/ceiling, Antique White USA kitchen cupboards, and a Henna Red fireplace, but it was a Californian bungalow. The words to describe the house I'm going to use for the color selection lady was modern, welcoming, family. Do you think I've done this so far? BTW what color trims/ceilings. I like white but which one I'm not a 1/2, 1/4 strength Hog on trim person! Still not in. Don't ask!? Not knowing what you have done throughout your new home, it’s hard to give you a feel. (And that the builders color consultant got that bit right!) Still not in. Don't ask!? Thankyou Michelle! Mrs B Re: Who’s got a question?? 15Feb 03, 2009 7:47 pm OK, since you've asked I've got one (question that is)
We are just about to paint my mum & dad's beachside shack before putting on the market & would love to know what colour you would suggest. Sorry, I haven't got a photo, but it is a small weatherboard shack with white windows & a very light grey (nearly white) roof. I was thinking paperbark? We just want something that looks fresh & beachy. Thanks Mish Re: Who’s got a question?? 16Feb 03, 2009 7:51 pm I don’t have any.
