I upgraded my brick to mild steel brick, but supervisor said they will put face brick on facade for rendering or moroka finish. I will do render after handover. Thanks. Yep that's correct, pretty normal for them to do that. Built the Eden Brae Lincoln 35 in Oran Park. Seconded These types of bricks (so I've heard) make it easier for the moroka to adhere to, & cost you less than moroking (is that even a word?? Lol) over your nice bricks. [/quote] Shouldn't be, but you can always check any surface issues with the brick manufacturer (eg: PGH) in the instance that the render may erode any surface coatings that may be present dependent on the type/style of brick, & thus eventually crumble off.. All the best with it Sent using Tapatalk Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13797Sep 04, 2016 5:31 pm We're building in Elara and the estate requires the bricks to be smooth finish, single colour, not red black or near black... This pretty much cancelled out like 7 out of 9 options in range A. Has anyone else had this issue? How pricey is brick upgrade? Does Eden brae then allow you to go to higher ranges, given the estate requirements since it was a Home and land package? Cluelessly building London 24 Eden brae at Elara Re: Who else is building with Eden Brae? 13798Sep 04, 2016 10:46 pm @shali: It was the same about a year ago for us. Pretty much all bricks in range A are not permitted in Elara. We had to upgrade to range B. Back than, this cost us about $1400 (Cement brick). I tried very hard to negotiate on this point but EBH wouldn't budge. You can try though! I did think it was worth it though (don't forget ot consider off-white mortar as well for about $500 depending on the brick you'll be using).

What is the standard mortar? I noticed at pgh that all the walls had off white mortar.
