Firstly, baby is growing nicely (I'm now 21 weeks) but sadly I'm still suffering from horrendous morning sickness among other fun things - whoever writes pregnancy advice books and says the second trimester is symptom-free needs a smack in the face with a shovel. Himself and I have been busy with scans, baby shopping (I may have under-estimated how much stuff they need) and have now (literally, last weekend!) finalised our lighting for the new house and placed the order. We are still figuring out curtains/blinds and are beginning to look into fencing quotes. We have also sold our current house (hooray!) We didn't get quite as much as we wanted (boo!) but we did manage to negotiate an extended settlement period which is fantastic as it means we can stay here until the new place is ready. The build was slowed a little where there was a delay in getting our windows in, but they were put in on Wednesday and since then things have just gone BAM! Over the past week Dales have just been throwing tradies at our place (for which we are very grateful.) Anyway - PHOTO TIME (because let's face it, we're all here for the pics.) It was a big stretch to get these cabinets but it was a design feature I had my heart set on. In order to afford these we had to forgo downlights throughout the house and a few other bits and pieces we wanted. Sometimes sacrifices have to be made!! I forgot to take more internal pics last weekend - basically the painters have been through and primed everything - ceilings/cornices, walls, doors, etc. I think the final coat will go on the roof and doors soon but the final wall painting gets done a bit further down the track. Hopefully the next steps are the carpenters finishing up the kitchen cabinetry (our overhead cupboards haven't gone in yet), installing the shelving in the wardrobes/linen cupboard/pantry and laminate benchtops going on. After that I think plumbing but we'll wait and see! Apart from one minor issue with the windows (two are satinlite when they were meant to be clear - our SS is already onto that) the quality of everything is of a high standard and we're really happy. We could only afford to put it in the kitchen as it is VERY expensive - I think the kitchen, including overhead cabinets, cost us around $6800.
