The only issue I would see with getting a higher window is that you'd have to be quite tall to access the overhead cupboards. I think how you've done yours will look great. What appliances did you go for in the end? What are you doing behind the rangehood? Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW 114Aug 23, 2016 4:20 pm Yeah we didn't raise the height of the overhead cabinets in line with the rangehood cause we thought it might be harder to reach. We are thinking of going for a Qasair rangehood. I saw them at Winning Appliances and they are super quiet and super powerful. This will be paired with a Miele ceramic glass gas cooktop. Both manufacturers recommend a minimum height of 760mm between cooktop and rangehood. Initially we wanted a glass splashback behind the rangehood but it was too difficult to have the right cutouts for the rangehood. (M wouldn't allow any installers of your own appliances onsite until after handover.) Instead we now have a polyurethane panel (same material and colour as our overhead cabinets) so it has the same look and feel across the overhead cabinets and rangehood. (The rangehood installer said they can do their own ducting and power cutouts on polyurethane but not glass.) Bet you can't wait to see something happen on site! I'm itching to see something happen on my end. So far it's just been paperwork and throwing away money lol. Re: Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW 119Sep 01, 2016 9:14 am dulie Nice, not long to go. Bet you can't wait to see something happen on site! I'm itching to see something happen on my end. So far it's just been paperwork and throwing away money lol. Yeah absolutely, there is so much detail to go through before everything in the plans is finalised. M have been reasonable and fair throughout the process so far which has been good. There's always stuff you want to add or change in hindsight but with a limited budget and time you gotta draw the line somewhere Once we finalise everything, which should be in the next couple of days, we'll post an update and total $ damage Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW viewtopic.php?t=82846 Build thread: Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde, NSW Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW 120Sep 10, 2016 10:01 pm So reading some of the other threads about costs of upgrades, I thought I would give an update on our upgrades costs now we have pretty much signed off on them Our total cost of upgrades for electrical, internals, kitchen, flooring, and externals came out to be close to $100k. This did not include us getting appliances separately and installing post handover Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde NSW viewtopic.php?t=82846 Build thread: Metricon Liberty 45 in Ryde, NSW 3 6491 Hi, First of all, thank you to this community for sharing your thoughts and opinions.
