Still nothing with the original house ;( and nothing happening with the build. So disappointing! Ive been thinking about the external colours, and I'm scared of the final outcome! From memory: Bricks: Goldfield haze Roof and gutters: Gully (pictured on left) Pillers and windows: Woodland Grey (pictured middle) Garage door, front door and fascia: Evening Haze (pictured right) The driveway will be that charcoal grey colour (not sure I like this but oh well) Please tell me your thoughts. Im concerned it won't look good with the 'four' colours, I thought just now perhaps we would be better off having the gully as the windows (Considering the internal colour scheme is quiet brown, i.e carpet, kitchen bench, tiles), but still having the Woodland grey rendered pillars (which will 'blend' in with the charcoal grey driveway.) Can anyone recommend a place where I can do a mock up of my facade including my brick colour? Also can anyone tell me if my porch will be the charcoal colour of my driveway (or regular concrete) and whether the porch will be connected to the driveway? Or is this an extra we have to ask for. It seems silly to do regular concrete porch and then charcoal driveway, considering if we were to join them up (if not already). Re: Chris and Sarah's new home- JG King odyssey 2 96Aug 23, 2016 10:48 am I'm not sure about the colours sorry, they're not colours I'm really familiar with, but if it makes feel better I think I have even more colours. We have monument (windows, door, and pier bricks also dark), basalt (roof, garage door, dark render, gutters and fascia), refuge (light render), oak coloured timber cladding and a bit of light brick. There are services out there that will do a rendering relatively cheaply, I think Surtees used one?? With the porch concrete I think it would be just plain concrete. They'll assume you are going to tile it or deck it unless you tell them otherwise. I don't imagine it would be very expensive to upgrade that little bit to coloured. It will step down from the rest of your slab whatever their standard amount is but they'll happily change it if you ask. We stepped ours down a bit more to allow for a deck. Your site plan should show if the driveway is currently joining up and they should be happy to change it if you want. The waiting sucks! I'm constantly questioning everything as well. Too much thinking time! My fingers are crossed you find a buyer soon. Re: Chris and Sarah's new home- JG King odyssey 2 97Aug 23, 2016 7:36 pm We used a place called newhomevisual (pic below) they sketch it up and had a mix of options depending on what you want. Colors is so hard and the longer you sit on them the worse it plys on your mind. I think you colours would work. I agree you would want your concrete at the front all the same Im sure when you gt there your ss could give you the concreters number so you could check or add anything. We are going to get oursto add a couple of things like crossover and a bit of a path down the side. Ireally hope you find a buyer soon. Keeping in mind I have done it and I'm not very good with photoshop and the colours I've just got off google images. So they are probably out. The brick colour certainly seems off and the evening haze seems darker then in my photo. But at least you can get some idea. I have only changed the window frame colour because Im happy with the rest. Originally we had chosen the darker colour, but now we think maybe the lighter colour looks better and as I thought before we are always able to change the render colour but not the window. (I have also done a third with the lighter colour but found it too light) Thanks bank, the waiting certainly sucks I well you! I will have to have a look at the plans again to check the cornet for sure. The dark makes the windows stand out more nd be more of a feature where as the light lets the windows be more one with the bricks and blend. So for me it would depend on what you want the look to be? Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Chris and Sarah's new home- JG King odyssey 2 100Aug 24, 2016 4:22 pm You did well! I think I like the lighter windows?? But I'm normally one for contrast so I'm confused ! Have you considered the darker colour on the roof? I'm just thinking they always look so much lighter with the sun on them compared to the swatches Did you see the colour bond chips have the colour values on the back that you can use to get the colours right in ps? They looked pretty accurate on my calibrated screen but I found I still needed to tweak them to get them to print right out of hubby's work printer.
