How are you guys progressing? Rain can't be helping. Did you get the farm?

Yes we got the farm

super excited but a little daunting as well. Sometimes I feel we might have bitten off more then we can chew

... Kids are very excited though..
House is progressing very quickly, it seems every day there is something being ticked off so I'm happy with that... I believe the ground floor framing will be worked on this week... I'm hoping the build will be finished earlier then originally expected

We have had a few problems with the rain and a particular neighbour

but I'm glad my builder has not lost his head over it... Lol I have written all about it on my post...

Another big long day onsite. Our ballustrade arrived and was installed. Initially it was meant to be supplied already painted but the steel fabricator was unable to find someone to paint it with micaceous paint hence once again it will be me painting it. It will be painted in the same paint as our steel doors. Solver micaceous charcoal.

I had initially wanted a different design but during the build it became clear that the upper level (kids area) required privacy from the entrance of the house. Hence the Ballustrade is just made up of 8x50mm flat bar which obscures the upper level from the entrance.

Also, here are our outdoor lighting adjacent to our main bedroom door. Can't wait for tomorrow when the doors get installed.

Our bedroom steel doors installed. Waiting for glazing and hardware. It was a very tight fit so we had to remove the corner beading to get it in.

Love that door too!!! Your move in date is very realistic! I'm aiming for that date too! But we're just been told gas connect takes 12weeks! Which brings us to first week of October!!! Wish we didn't need gas!

Thankyou all. I'm really happy with the doors and the wait has been worth it.

I've taken off the next two weeks to focus on trying to get the house ready for us to move in. We have already booked removalists for Saturday the 24th of September.

So much of my focus has been with the new addition. I'll be trying to get the original front section of the house ready too. To start with I have designed our new front and side fence. Not sure about it yet but thought I'd share anyway.

Hi hrvat_ica. Yes it's been very busy. Our floor polishers started two days ago and our tiler has just finished the ensuite. He will be grouting tomorrow. I can't believe it took him 2.5 weeks for 1 bathroom. From here on the site will become even busier.
I've been painting and installing the storm water.

More of our electrical was done today. This old doorway went to the original kitchen. It has now become our electrical, security, communications area. It's half complete.

Our ensuite was grouted today. This is our shower recess with the brass tiles. As these tiles a non coated brass they will age with a darker patina.

Brass tiles are so sleek, is that an led strip hanging? Your fan is perfect... Would love something similar in our bedroom. Can you please point me in the right direction of were I can source one please

Hi, yes that wiring is for a Led profile.
All our fans are from a company called "Big *** fans". They are very silent but not cheap. You should be able to get 20% off currently. Look them up online.

We are getting our site ready for our all cabinet work which is due to arrive onsite this Wednesday.
I'm both excited and very nervous. Our cabinets are from Europe and were measured up very early in the build to allow for the 3 month lead time they require. This also means that if there are any errors there will be lengthy delays. I suspect I'll be having a few sleepless nights......

Mean while our tiling is almost complete and some more glazing was done today. Our house is now semi-lock up

Cabinets are here!! I'm shocked at how many boxes there are. It took 2 men 5 hrs to offload it all from the their 8 tonne truck.
Here is the kitchen:

I estimate that the cabinets will take the installer 2-3 weeks. The imported cabinets comprise of kitchen, laundry, powder room vanity, ensuite vanity, kids bathroom vanity, our dresser room, study and upstairs kitchenette.

Also our tiler if finishing off the last bathroom. This is the original bathroom from the 1930s home. It will be the guest bathroom. For that reason we have styled it completely and tried to be a bit old school.
The floor is the same 300x75 floor tiles used on our laundry. The walls are antique subway tiles. The waste required 37 cuts.
