Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Hallmark Homes 45Jul 17, 2016 3:46 am Oh yuck moving!!!! So glad all went well and you are now the proud owner We are madly counting down to our PCI! Did you have your own contractors that needed to come in? We are hoping our supervisor will let our floor tiler in early!! Re: Hallmark Homes 46Jul 17, 2016 7:55 am We weren't allowed to have anyone on site before handover. So floors are getting done Monday, along with some extra concreting. But that's OK. Most of our extra work is being done by friends (handy when your other half's family are all in construction) so while the delay is annoying the money saved meant lots of new furniture....lol. Re: Hallmark Homes 47Jul 17, 2016 9:53 am Hi all, Brisguy CONGRATULATIONS!!! Glad to hear you're happy with your home build... I have good news to report too, we have a start date of this week hooray! Hallmark sign posted on our lot earlier this week. Brisguy79 may I ask how many weeks from your start date to your handover date? Contract wise, our completion date is early January, but we still have hope we'll be in this year Re: Hallmark Homes 48Jul 17, 2016 10:47 am It took 15 weeks, but you'd probably add another 2 onto that if Hallmark are doing your concreting, landscaping, and flooring. To give you an idea our contract completion date was in September. (We saved about 10K organising this ourselves after handover, so was worth it). Contract wise, our completion date is early January, but we still have hope we'll be in this year If you go to Instagram #hallmarkhomesqld I've added week by week breakdowns of our build and there are two other people that have done the same. Our build will be 14 weeks start to finish with an extra week for our own tiling and driveway to be completed, another person got there's done in 12.5 weeks. I'd allow 15 as an average but could be as early as 12 weeks! Good luck! The first part goes so quickly so is really exciting! Yep we did exactly the same! Air con and a few other bits and pieces we've also done ourselves! It's worth the extra week or so! Re: Hallmark Homes 52Aug 05, 2016 10:53 am Great news, we had our slab poured yesterday... Thursday of Week 3... Moving along alright... Haven't heard from the Site Supervisor yet, though I have his name and number on the start construction letter... Should I contact him or will he contact me for introductions? Cheers Re: Hallmark Homes 53Sep 20, 2016 9:18 pm My hubby and I are so excited that we have finally settled on our land now that it is registered!! Yay! Now we are just waiting on council to approve our hallmark house plans (Edge 208). Anyone know how long the council approval takes? It's been there almost a month now! Re: Hallmark Homes 55Oct 12, 2016 6:05 pm Oh that's great icebreaka! We just received our stamped approved plans and have a start onsite date of 24th October! It's such a great feeling to see things finally moving ahead considering we started the process back in April but have had so many set backs and delays with waiting for land to register and then settlement being delayed due to terrible valuations from our lender! Fingers crossed we have a smoother ride moving forward lol. What was your timeline like in terms of your build? Re: Hallmark Homes 56Oct 16, 2016 1:17 am Our house is coming along nicely.. We're at the end of week 13 now, almost there! Here's a spreadsheet I made to track and compare the progress between my house and two of the hallmark builds on instagram. These are all low set homes. You must be excited! Re: Hallmark Homes 58Nov 11, 2016 7:15 pm Just an update on our house... Got an email from Hallmark today to say our PCI is scheduled for December 7th. I called my supervisor who said handover is usually around a week after PCI. Is that how its been for the rest of you? So anyway, we're really excited now! However, I just can't get my head around why its so far away... Electrical fit out was today so all the lights & power points are in... All that's left is main floor tiles, plumbing & oven... December 7th would be the 21st week of our home build so this build has gone slower than others! Things I can think of that contributed to the slow build: - Unusual lot with slope at the front, needed scaffolding set up twice - Sides and back has a bagged and paint finish - Only had one painter paint the whole house, he was booked in for 9 days and actually took 13 days But anyway, the house is looking great and happy that we'll be in before Christmas Re: Hallmark Homes 59Nov 12, 2016 8:42 am icebreaka Just an update on our house... Hallmark told me the average build time is 15weeks but I would be interested to know what the outliers are too! Overall it is exciting news though!
