I have not heard of Avonite before, is it like a cross between laminate and stone?
Well done and good luck with handover. Re: Our build with SPH 28Jan 30, 2009 7:08 am Thanks guys - donut, from memory I think Avonite is a solid acrylic material rather than actual stone. But it looks like stone, feels like stone... sounds like stone (when you put your coffee cup down on it, it makes a satisfying solid sound!). If you manage to scratch it, you can buff out small scratches with very fine sandpaper, because the colour of the bench goes right through the 20 or 30mm thickness.
It's like Staron I think, that's what we originally got with our package, but they changed suppliers halfway through our build. Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes Re: Our build with SPH 29Mar 23, 2009 12:10 am We're in! We've been in around a month and the inside is now complete, decoration-wise. We'll need to kit out the home theatre down the track and perhaps buy a new bedroom suite... but it's all painted, carpeted, floored, and window coverings throughout. I'm in love with the house and so so proud! We love cleaning it... and the dishwasher certainly helps! It's our first dishwasher and I doubt we'll ever be without one again. I'm even losing weight because I'm cooking at home so often A few pics of the main living area, kitchen and theatre: Theatre: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Living: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So much work to do in the gardens, as I'm sure you can all appreciate! Landscaping was not included as we purchased our block privately. We're doing the front first, and then will follow with the back. No idea WHAT to do with the back yet, although we think we're going to deck the Alfesco and beyond. Other than that, we lack imagination! What colour have you done your walls, they look lovely? can I also ask who installed your floors? We will be needing to do ours real soon too and yours look wonderful. Re: Our build with SPH 31Mar 23, 2009 7:54 am Thanks monkey! The walls are Dulux 'Linseed', and we got Tassie Oak solid 112mm boards. Coastal Timber Floorsanding supplied and installed the floors, they were very good with showing up when the promised they would show up, worked solid days, and were able to be very flexible with our dates when our key handover date kept changing. Coastals are a Rockingham-based company, they have a website. I think they generally do the southern suburbs but may do other areas of the metro area too? Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes Re: Our build with SPH 32Mar 23, 2009 7:58 am Oh I just love the Linseed on the walls. Looks absolutely gorgeous. I have a colour card with that colour and I'm toying with using it for a particular area of my house. After seeing your place, I definitely will. Lovely! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Our build with SPH 33Mar 23, 2009 4:13 pm Joles - we love it! When it started going on the walls it was a bit scary as it looks so dark compared to the bright white of the plaster... but once you've got the whole wall done and it's dried it all comes together Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes Re: Our build with SPH 35Mar 31, 2009 11:51 pm starlet Thanks monkey! I think they generally do the southern suburbs but may do other areas of the metro area too? love it... the front looks terrific! with the floor boards, did you get some sort of special deal organised by the builder or just went out on your own and got a terrific deal from them straight out? Re: Our build with SPH 36Apr 01, 2009 8:23 pm We got our own deal with the floors. Had quotes from around 3 companies but I was so worried about reputation and quality above everything else. Prices came in around the same no matter where we went, but I asked alot of people in our area who they'd used and one companies name kept coming up time and time again as a reputable one - my parents used them years ago and were pleased (around 2001) but alot can change in that time! We got our living areas done after handover, but before moving in. We went against all advice and painted before installation and there was only minor damage, but patching did not take long. Carpet installers did around 20x more damage!! Love your carpet...l think l picked something similar...or did l? eeek, it's been so long since colour selection, l forgotten what it looks like! *hmm, slight worried now that my carpet is too light* Re: Our build with SPH 38Apr 04, 2009 12:16 am Thanks thorney! Funny isn't it, sometimes I look at the carpet and worry I bought it too dark! haha! We don't have much decent furniture in the carpeted rooms yet, it's in the bedrooms, theatre and study and because they're not main living areas they're last to have their furniture upgraded. Theatre is sadly completely empty! I'm thinking of turning it into a bit of a 'studio' as I muck around a bit with photography in what little spare time I have Haven't told hubby yet.... Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 19581 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 24414 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 24865 |
