Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 04, 2016 1:52 pm Hi. I'm struggling to pick carpet. My walls are a light grey although they are slightly darker than I thought they'd be. I like soft pale tones. I'm struggling with carpet colour upstairs. Downstairs were having timber floors. I know grey is the obvious choice but I don't want the place to look too cold. I'm considering a light beige /tan carpet. Can I get your opinions if this would work. I'd hoped to download photos but can't seem to get that to work! I'm nervous it will look odd! Re: Carpet help for grey walls 2Jul 04, 2016 1:57 pm Maybe look at a dark grey with brown tones, not blue tones - the blue tones make it look cold, brown towns will warm it up. That may sound odd but grey tends to either be with blue or brown underneath. Can you choose your carpet from anywhere? there is once at Carpet Call called California Twist - 'Hollywood' - Hollywood being the colour. It is a nice grey with brown undertones.
