Everything complete including the flowers Photo overload time. Open plan living with massive island looking over the sunken lounge. Polished concrete came up pretty well except for some rough patches which we expected while trying to achieve a burnished look. After spending 6 months trying to source it, then another 15 hours brushing and sanding, then putting it into place with 6 of us and finishing it off with a modern Zen switch, I don't think it could have turned out any better. We will be installing the outdoor patio roof this week hopefully so I will post more photos once that is completed. Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. Fast forwarded + photo heavy 316Jun 25, 2016 10:11 pm Thank you to all for the lovely comments, we couldn't have asked for much more. Other than our first plasterer stuffing us around and a few minor problems here and there, we are ecstatic with the end result and very grateful for it. I wish all the owner builders and non-owner builders out there a much nicer house. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. Quick question is that a normal grey or did u add colour to the concrete to darken it and also wood is at the back of the dining area? That wood is amazing We did add charcoal to the mixture, I can't recall whether it was to every 2 cubic meters or 3 cubic meters though. The timber cladding is recycled blackbutt in sawtooth finish. We got the suppliers to oil it as well rather than doing it ourselves. I just nailed them on. You will find same or similar timber at Schnitz and Nando's. To give you a rough cost indication, that wall cost us under $1000 including oil but excluding labour. If it was upto me I would have done a few more walls in that finish but mrs wasn't so keen. I find plaster a little boring = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. Being a graphic designer, I do semi professional photo shoots, not so much real estate though except for our own place Here's one of my favourite snaps: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC. I don't think it would have looked as nice if we kept them white. Credit to our cabinetmaker's workmanship. All cabinets are soft closing by the way. After the kitchen disappointment in our old house, this is the total opposite and favourite part of the house. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Custom owner build in Hume - VIC - Tiling Stage http://goo.gl/qpPglB Re: OB in Hume area - VIC.
