The colour consultant thought it was a really nice contrast and I saw it on a display which looked good (can't remember where). Re the stone the cost for the 40mm (from included 20mm in promo) was about $2.5k but that included the extension from standard 800mm to 1100mm, then there was another $2.5k for the waterfall edges. Thanks Jason My Phoenix by Metricon in Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83584&p=1570829&hilit=my+phoenix+by+metricon+in+melbourne#p1570829 Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 13Jun 07, 2016 12:39 pm I think keeping the timber trim consistent was definitely the right move. I was a little unsure about how dark the finished facade would be, especially with the darker roof tiles as well but som eof the examples ive seen look great. Actually one thing to look out for, I've read on this website that some people have had issues with moonshadow bricks arriving on site with lots of chips. So you just have to let your site manager know that you'll be looking out for it in the final inspection. With most bricks it's not an issue but because that brick is painted it can be quite obvious apparently. Thanks very much for the pricing info. I think we're going to bite the bullet and add it to the mortgage. Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 14Jun 19, 2016 10:26 am It's been a couple of weeks since my last update so thought I would share some progress. The frame is now fully complete, and most of the roof is on (all of level 1, just need to do the hip to the lower level dining & alfresco & the flat roof to the garage. They've almost finished wrapping too- I must say I'm annoyed they didn't completely finish the roof first though. It's starting to look like my home now! How exciting:-)! I had my independent frame inspection on Wednesday and they mentioned M had done a very good job on the frame, with a few items picked up which I have shard with my CSC and Site Manager to rectify prior to the pre-plaster inspection. Here are some photos:- http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/18%20June%20-%204_zpsckdlyhqy.png http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/18%20May%20-%203_zpspp5ldujr.png http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/18%20May%20-%201_zpsz3woa2lw.jpg http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/17%20June%20-%208_zpstxvrfhl4.jpg Looking forward to seeing a 100% finished roof & my bricking! The heating system is in & a lot of the electrical rough-ins completed. Very exciting news- the first lot of bricks have arrived (but they can't start bricking due to the poor weather) and I have also seen plaster in the house. Spoke to my site manager on Friday and he thinks we are only about 2 weeks away from internal lock-up! Can't believe it. I've made it clear to him that before they start plastering (booked for later this week, please let me know so I can have my pre-plaster inspection and defects from the frame checked for rectification which he said is fine). Here are a few photos...bring on some sun so I can have my bricks laid- a moment I have eagerly been waiting for! http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/Site%20Visit%2023-6%206_zpshpqcr6e5.jpg http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/Site%20Visit%2023-6%202_zpsvfejfihr.jpg http://i1243.photobucket.com/albums/gg554/jasongmelb/Site%20Visit%2023-6%203_zps0b1jsud6.jpg My Phoenix by Metricon in Melbourne viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83584&p=1570829&hilit=my+phoenix+by+metricon+in+melbourne#p1570829 Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 18Jun 26, 2016 8:20 pm Beautiful home jason, can't wait for for pics viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83489 Re: My Metricon Phoenix in Melbourne 19Jun 26, 2016 9:27 pm glendale41 Beautiful home jason, can't wait for for pics viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83489 Thanks G41, right back at you.
