Either going double square -ish with no drainer or white granite Your Kitchen Sink? 30Sep 05, 2016 10:45 am We have changed our minds a lot on what to do/get for our kitchen sink. We only wanted first to get a single sink so we were thinking of getting grooves cut into the stone for drainage but one of the kitchen places that we went to said they don't work. Then I was thinking of getting a deeper sink for tall pots but I was shown the space between my tap and sink and that it does provide space for tall pots. Also, going 230 or 250 they're too deep that they're no good for the back. Anyway, we ended up getting this double sink from Franke but we also got the rollamat and drain tray. They both can sit on the sink when not in use but also will not take much space if I want them put away. It likewise helps me to absorb the plates cleanser water in one sink and flush them in the other sink. Re: Your Kitchen Sink? 32Sep 11, 2016 4:10 pm I read somewhere that the thing to be aware of with square bowls is that dirt accumulates in the corners and they can be really hard to keep clean. Hence we are going with rounded edges Re: Your Kitchen Sink? 33Sep 11, 2016 7:48 pm Yeah I'm looking for one with the rounded corners. Having seen the cheaper ones in person im looking for a cheaper one. As $600+ is a lot just for a sink. Especially when the Builders budget for a sink is f $&* all. Re: Your Kitchen Sink? 34Sep 12, 2016 10:54 pm If you're looking for a double undermount, then @$600 at least. Here's one for $616 https://www.appliancesonline.com.au/abe ... k-lg200pk/ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Your Kitchen Sink? 35Nov 17, 2016 9:48 am I went for the oliveri Santorini Mega Bowl Black sink. I loved the hardiness of the granite finish and with such a large single bowl we could use it to soak pots and pans. We do have a butler pantry so in theory this sink will not be used to wash everyday dishes unless needed. We liked how large it was and how the black matched our other features like pendants, switches, handles and feature domino black dulux wall colours. Re: Your Kitchen Sink? 36Nov 17, 2016 10:45 am lol we must be the only ones not doing undermount sinks! Had rounded undermount sinks when we last built, looks great, doesn't splash all over the place but a couple of annoying things we found. The edges where the silicon were sealed started to look dirty no matter how often I cleaned it No drainer so we used the drainer provided to the side so took up lots of bench space for us With this new build we went for items that were more practical instead of looks... Try not to get square undermounts with the square taps... They look good but they do not go very well with each other... no matter how lightly you turn the taps on it splashes everywhere! Second Build, this time with Carlisle 2016, can't wait! Considering on changing the sink in the kitchen to a round single bowl at pre-start though as we don't think we need a double in the kitchen if we do the main washing up in the scullery.
