In fact I know Devine also put irrigation with solenoids down there also, that council have had to move because they're sitting right in the middle of drives. (I have been told the whole fence, irrigation tree/bush planting was done without consulting the saxon hyde developer) I work for parks, my daily walks are called "Work" we've got more lawned areas we mow in Belair alone than the entire area of our estate! Because when that planting was done, saxon Hyde didnt own those blocks of land they've sub divided. I can see why Devine are being particuarly difficult about where they put services too- They've basically forked out absolute MEGABUCKS to establish the deep sewer, bring in the power, reclaimed water, NBN, upgrade the water treatment works to handle reclaimed and deep sewer AND built that road that the new blocks are accessing off of (and a road like that is about $250K per 100m of road). I know if I had put out that kind of expenditure and then had someone come in and just take access off it i'd be putting every power box, irrigation box and tree in every driveway possible AFAIK, until the estate is actually finished council has no responsibility on any maintenance or running of that road or any other part of the estate, its all still Devines problem- Hence why you still see the CLS contractors hooning around on their mowers rather than council staff. That entrace road past the Mill Street intersection is still Devines land, and if you look at the survey pegs on the Saxon Hyde blocks, theyre outside of the fence line to reflect that. TL:DR, Because the entrance road is Devines land until the estate is finished, they have no obligation to be even remotely considerate to anyone building along there in another developers estate. You might have to give a history lesson to the owner of Saxon Hyde. He tells the story that he owned the whole lot and sold of the back area to Devine, including the design for the parks. Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 671May 24, 2016 7:24 pm He also told me, about 4 years ago now as I was watching Devine dig in the new intersection for Mill Street that I should "Give up on waiting for Devine and purchase a block in his Saxon Hyde estate as it would be ready before Devine even got a house site released" 4 years later, Im sitting in my living room and his estate is still a grassy paddock. Im genuinely curious to know whats going on there- FOUR YEARS is a long time in land development, and short of running a grader down the roads once and skimming off the grass and mowing it, thats all thats ever happened. And if you run a property search on the land, its still listed as sheep and cattle land use and doesn't have development approval yet- Apart from those blocks on the entrance road, which were two seperate land parcels to the main SH estate (which is another 3 seperate parcels again...) Everything about that development screams shady- he's been through what- four or five land agents now? Its currently Sexton/Glover/Watts, Bout a month ago it was Remax, Before that it was Loraine Burrows, and Im pretty sure initially it was Harcourts. Theres something amiss about that? Im also pretty sure the owner of Saxon Hyde would tell the world he owned Victoria Square and begrudgingly sold it to the government so they had somewhere to put a fountain if it sold him another house block too! Because the guys at Devine told us we were the only people in stage one who hadn't reached settlement before they issued titles (which no bank will EVER do post GFC). Which is funny, Because about half a dozen other people in stage one have said they got told they were the only ones who hadn't reached settlement yet too! Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 672Feb 08, 2017 11:22 am Hi, I have just found this forum page and wondering if anyone is still keeping up with anything on here. I did see the last post was mid last year. I have just started building up the top of Aurora Circuit Lot 91 and was wondering if anyone knows of any body trying to get rid of any clean fill? I don't need it until the build is complete, which is hopefully around June, but wanted to get a head start on things. Thanks Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 673Feb 08, 2017 12:28 pm Welcome, If you dont find anything on here can always ask the guys cutting your block, they will often be getting rid of fill from other jobs. There is a new block being cut right now on expedition as you drive in, stop off and see if they have anything Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 674Feb 08, 2017 1:11 pm Thanks Chuckles. We have done a split level so we didn't end up having all that much left over fill. I might have to get my partner to have a look when she is there next. Our little one just started at the kindy last week so she is there during the week now. The two blocks either side haven't been started yet so i might keep an eye on that and see if they can put any spare fill into my yard. It's great to see how the estate is coming along. I'm looking forward to moving in and meeting a few of the neighbors. Might even try have a kick of the footy next season for Meadows FC Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 675Feb 08, 2017 1:17 pm Fish217 Thanks Chuckles. We flagged down a truck one day and ended with 30t from another job in the hills nearby. Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 676Feb 08, 2017 3:48 pm Hi Fish217, We are at lot 87!! If you are after fill give Daly's Southern Bobcats 0418 830 863 a call. He came and dug out our front garden and said if anyone ever needs fill to give him a call and they can have as much as they want.. Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 677Feb 09, 2017 12:40 pm Hey Porsha1369!! Only a few doors down . How is your place going? Thanks for the contact number. I will get in contact with them when the completion gets closer and i will know how much i will need then too. It's great to see all the new places going up but i can't wait to get in and start all my landscaping. It's so hard to picture what its all going to look like when its just a slab surrounded by dirt Re: Is anyone building at Mawson Green, Meadows SA? 678May 23, 2019 12:15 pm Hi there guys, We are looking at moving from Perth to the Hills (I'm from Mt Barker originally) and were wondering how you guys who have been living at Mawson green for a few years have found it? Do any of you work in the city? If so how long does it take you to get there each day? Do your kids go to school in Meadows or elsewhere? Is there anything you wish you had of known before you built there that you know now? We were looking in Mt Barker originally but like the idea of building our perfect house on a bigger block in Meadows rather than a house we might not love so much on a smaller block in Mt Barker just a bit worried about the distance from everything. I know it's not far into Barker to shop etc so it doesnt bother me its just the wife might not like it. We are coming from an estate in perth where 350 sqm (for almost $300k) is considered a big block so we are really excited to get a bit of space for a fraction of what we are paying now. Cheers in advance for any advice you can offer Wish you all the best. Once you signed the contract, they will find millions excuses to charge you. And have seen their sites unfinished for a long time. 4 24833 As title suggests, looking at using the interlocking Pentablock stacked stone products to replace failing timber retaining… 0 17878 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10038 |
