Thank you Adele! I just did one photo for now HA, more because I'd rather do the big reveal at the end! It still looks unfinished to me (which it is!) Actually the electrician needs to come and do the power point for the irrigation, and he can now put in the lights that will point up from the Ornamental Pears - then the planting. Been having some heavy rain so that's stopped work last half of this week. Today's meant to be ok though until this evening. Hubby & I are going to paint the new fence on Sunday. Got a built in letter box too which I'm happy with. I'm pleased no one can just step onto the front lawn and turn off the water (without going to a lot of effort) anymore. Yes, it happened a couple of times - jerks! Unfortunately our street has a school up one end and a busy road, across which is McDonalds, the local train station and another school at the other end - lots of pedestrian traffic My Hamptons build (completed): viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63370 Moved in Wednesday 11th Dec 2013 Front landscaping completed June 2016 Re: Classic style weatherboard Melb -driveway concreting pou 771May 27, 2016 5:32 pm Thanks for sharing, I love seeing your updates. The front fence is pretty. It will look great once it's painted. Plants will finish everything off nicely. The weather has been terrible all week. I'll be busy planting the final plants in the front yard on Sunday. Re: Classic style weatherboard Melb -driveway concreting pou 773May 28, 2016 10:32 am Thanks HA & WifeofHunza, Yep I think the weather will be ok for painting tomorrow - just cold! Deliberating whether to put a compact maple in the corner (where the picket fence meets the side fence) but all the maples I like are huge. My favourite is October Glory! Realistically it would have to be Japanese Maple. Something that doesn't' grow too wide, not too concerned about height. If size of Maple tees is an issue, possibly a weeping cherry would suit. We had one growing up in a Hawthorn terrace front garden and it was easy to keep to the right size and very pretty. WoH Re: Classic style weatherboard Melb -driveway concreting pou 775May 28, 2016 2:53 pm A Japanese maple would look stunning in that corner. I'm thinking about maybe putting some in the backyard but dispersed between other trees so that when they're not flowering they're sort of camouflaged. But yeah - have always loved them. HA, yup, thankyou. Landcraft are researching some for us and I'm about to do some research on that too. I'll let you know what we come up with! Also, I forgot to add we were told by the paint shop not to paint. Even this whole week which has virtually no rain forecast. Reason being, it's too cold. We need the temp to hit 16 or 17 for at least 4 hours of the day unless we want the paint to slide off - or potential bubbling in summer. I'm not sure where that leaves us, as this is Melbourne, and it's practically Winter.
