Hi Everyone
So the Mrs want to plant a frangipani tree on our property. I don't mind them but think they look a tad messy the way they grow etc and in winter time so I have put my foot down and made it a backyard placement only. Problem is our backyard is small and we don't have much space. I have a retaining wall which levels our land out flat and was thinking maybe we could plant it in our retaining wall. The problem I see is our retaining wall is only 900mm wide and has gravel + ag line pipe Im assuming the roots will grow into the slots of the agline since water will sit in the crevices etc. The frangipani tree is a Plumeria Alba species and the tag explains it only grows to 2.5 metres in height although I have my doubts and think it will grow much larger. Should I be worried about planting it in my 900mm width retaining wall it has concrete sleepers im just worried the roots will go a bit awall and rip everything up. The soil is heavy heavy hard clay so imthinking it will be slow growing I just don't want a massive tree or roots blocking my ag line pipe. Other option I guess is just plant it nd when it gets to large just cut it up and start over again????????
What's everyone's thoughts?
