Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 84May 25, 2016 7:12 pm Eric was so lovely I rocked up with a box of beer for him and the boys after I seen them working hard in the rain one day. he introduced himself and was really lovely. Your slab looks so clean. I remember when ours looked white and now its filthy lol so much mud and tradies on site everyday but I suppose that's a good sign of progress. Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 86May 25, 2016 10:10 pm Haha that's funny. I drove past and they were working in the pouring rain and I thought that's dedication they deserved something nice to say thank you! I was so embarrassed though I wasn't sure if your allowed to do that but o thought everyone likes a present Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 87Jun 01, 2016 5:28 pm Feels like everyday something new is getting done. After a slow start its all systems go now. Frame finished , fascias and guttering almost finished. Thanks to our site supervisor adam he was ok with us moving our downpipe from front of garage to side of it. Either way wasnt really a issue. It looks really grand! We really wanted the Trent façade but decided to put our money to other things as money was getting tight. Have you fallen in love with the floor plan now you can walk through it? That's great your site supervisor is good at compromise it certainly helps. So far we've had a great experience with ours although it would be nice to have him on site more often. It does feel like you pick one small thing up and it slows everything down which is annoying but at least they are fixing it. I just wish there was more brickies in Geelong because I really cant wait to see it bricked!! There has only been one or two days where nothing has happened, something small happens most days so any progress is good Cant wait to see more pics of your build! Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 90Jun 01, 2016 8:33 pm Yeah we love the facade was hard to justify the cost but we talked ourselves into it haha. Regarding the floorplan we ended up walking through a memphis build in bannockburn which was at plasterer stage just before we signed our contract. Was a huge relief as it comfirmed we had made the right decision. Is such a great floorplan we suits us and plenty of room for entertaining our large extented family. We made a few little plan changed which we are really happy with. Regarding the bricks i would be happy to wait if ut guaranteed me a quslity job. Bad brickwork stands out like a sore thumb Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 91Jun 02, 2016 10:24 am That's so great they let you walk through one in bannockburn! Very lucky. It is a great floorplan hopefully its just as great to live in! Did you have to add or change anything to get your 6 star energy rating? Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 92Jun 02, 2016 6:09 pm Hey julia I remember seeing a fee of a few hundred dollars on our contract which was for upgrade insulation which was to achieve our 6 star energy rating. Our windows go in tomorrow and roofing next week. SS mentioned that all there brickies are working at the moment and are scheduled for other jobs coming up (your house) haha so he is going to focus on inside of house first Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 94Jun 02, 2016 10:16 pm Yay haha i will be super happy lady when i see brickies on site! We had to pay for better insultation in the roof too and when i seen it i was really happy. It should be a very well insulated house. Nice and toasty in winter. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
