If it hasn't I wouldn't be thinking you would move in this year. After civil construction finished they apply for titles through the council that can take a number of weeks. After titles are issued there is 2 weeks settlement period. From receiving your titles to getting to site can take in some instances 3-4 months. Then the build would be another 5-6 months not accounting for delays etc. Our land was through places Vic and we had significant delays as well. Once our land finished construction it took them just about 2 months to issue the titles. Then it took 4 months to get to site for us (we had Christmas break in the mix) Places Vic took forever with our developer approval which held us up getting to site. Maybe look at a 6 month lease which has option of going month to month? Or look at moving out now and getting a 12 month lease? Thanks Johanna and Jadeyfox for the tip. Hi, Banehouse - civil works has been finished end of March. Last update was just the electrical that is awaiting for approval from the council so we are expecting in the next 2 weeks it will send out to title office for registration which puts best estimate to be 1st or 2nd week of June for settlement. Then another 2 weeks so bring us to July. Which Boutique then have to arrange for civil works. Are you residing in the whittlesea council area? Another question why did it took 3-4 months for Boutique to go into site? I thought only 1 month only from title? No not Whittlesea area in the Western suburbs but Places Vic land. Our land titled end of October with settlement occurring 2 weeks after. We went to site first week of Feb. Once title they apply for soil sample that can take up to 10 working days. Need to apply for PSI report from water/council authority (this can take some time and we where advised to worst case scenario it take 4-8 weeks. Ours took approx 2 weeks) They can't apply for engineering or building permit before that report gets back. Drafting will then work on your final plans (based on soil report) they then supply this to developer for approval - this is where places Victoria now can cause you more pain depending on how long they take. Once you have developers approval they will send plans to you to sign off on - check this with fine tooth comb! Once they have that back they apply for final engineering that can take up to 10 working days. Then the scheduling department picks up your file and begins ordering all items and making sure everything is still available etc. This is when they apply for your building permit. Once scheduling finish final plans are drawn and sent to you for approval. From there your final is sent to construction(only happens on a wed) then you will be issued a site start date which is usually the wed after!
