Browse Forums General Discussion Re: Superior Building Group 17May 19, 2016 4:11 pm They will promise you the world until you sign th econtract and then it is all downhill. Customer Service is non existent, we are still waiting on things to be completed 2 years after we've moved into home. We've had a plumbing defect which left our floors and powder room flooded and still waiting on them to repair 3 months on!!! Honestly all the little extras you get over other builders arent worth the heartache we have had. Been an absolute nightmare. we arent the only ones that have had this issue either. If you do decide to go with them, please be sure to get everything in writing, dont move in until everything is complete and when your 3 month maintenance is due, keep on them. We are still waiting on the 3 month maintenance 2 years on. Re: Superior Building Group 19May 24, 2016 11:20 am Ok just to update about my experience so far, they were very helpful and very flexible in terms of redesigning their floor plans as per our suggestions which usually other builders don't do. They also include so many upgrades as their standard inclusions and wound't charge extra if you decide to add large windows, so and so forth. Once we sort of finalised what we wanted, they presented us with the cost and that is just one figure including site costs. They don't provide any itemised figure to say what they charged. However the cost they present is pretty higher than other builders. They also promised that this amount wouldn't be changed even if the build start date is delayed. My land is currently in a bushfire area and I asked them if they could refund any money if the bushfire is removed by the time they are ready to build. And the answer is NO and they charge you regardless and as far as I know from other builders, the amount allocated for BAL is a substantial amount. To me this is not being open and transparent interns of the money you spend and I feel this is ripping off the customer. Re: Superior Building Group 20May 27, 2016 12:10 pm I am not sure about the bushfire area levy but in terms of pricing we found SBG with all its standard inclusions came way under price compared to similar level and other bulk builders. we have been in our home for 3 years, structurally have had NO issues whatsoever. Customer service with all builders is a tough thing, site supervisors have multiple sites so you have to keep at it for informatuon and anything else you need. they were excellent with hand over date and changes to the site even after the build had started. all in all, still an excellent experience. If we ever build again (never say never) they will be our first preference. bought land - Oct' 11 Builder decided - Nov' 11 deposits paid - Mar' 12 Land titled -Sep' 12 Site start - 29 Sep 12 Home handed and moved in - 31 Jan 13 4 15688 Hey guys building a new place through a volume builder and just wondering if i should complain to the site supervisor as we just had plasterboard installed.
