Fingers crossed Boutique are able to give you an extension for the price protection free of charge as it wasn't in your control. Thanks for your comment about my ensuite, I was a bit worried it might look cr*p but I love it the more I look at it and imagine the final finished product. Met a guy (he no more works with Resolve) who advised us based on our financial situation all good. This was 6 months before we applied for our loan & land settlement. He applied home loan with CBA almost 3 months before the land settlement. We got $50K short in valuation. Our troubles started from here. He then wasted our 2 months doing nothing on the valuation. We had to push him for everything. He then applied with Bluebay whose valuation came out the same as CBA. We now had about 3 weeks for our settlement. He just did nothing to help us. Dint approach other banks. We then changed the broker went with another independent broker who is awesome. This guys got a pre-valuation before even approaching a bank from companies who he knew wouldn't under value properties so much. So the valuation came out with smaller shortfall which we always expected & were prepared for. Westpac also undervalued our property by $70K. We then settled with ANZ. Because the Resolve guy wasted our valuable time we were left with less than a week to settle. It was such a nightmare as we were close to Christmas period. The developer gave an extension from 19th December 2014 till 24th and we settled on 24th which was the last day we had. We only had to settle with land at that point as ANZ only lends 90%. We then were forced to postpone construction for 5 months till June 2015. Boutique were really good as they did not charge us extra since we are building after 6 months of signing PWC and the base price of the house has gone up as well. Boutique has been very good for us. I don't want to blame the whole Resolve company because of one idiot but make sure you are on top of everything & follow things up no matter whom you deal with. Wow, one year later and the exact thing happened to us. With boutique home and resolve finance and original mortgage broker leaving, and ANZ... It's quite ridiculous ! We have 2 weeks before our settlement and have been sucked into this financial blackhole... The question I am hoping someone can answer is how is the caesarstone cut around the sink? Is the stainless steel bridge between the 2 basins exposed or is it covered by caesarstone? I have been told that it is not a good idea to have the casesarstone covering it as it can crack. I have seen pictures showing both ways & I am not sure if you need to upgrade to not have it. Doesn't it depend on the type of double bowl basin used? If you are opting for 2 single bowl basins, then you will have stone between the sinks. The only thing is I wouldn't know where to start... Actually maybe Facebook 'residents' pages and if they only accept or befriend if you live in the area, email admin! Let's face it, if you want someone to rent a property especially through a real estate, they want min 1 year or six months. As they then have to pay agency fees for advertising etc. Unless you rent and then negotiate and you find a tenant if you break lease under a year. I see a lot of people do that on Facebook in our community page. So many people need to rent these days it's hard to find property but you have the 7 years good history behind you good luck! Then the build would be another 5-6 months not accounting for delays etc. Our land was through places Vic and we had significant delays as well. Once our land finished construction it took them just about 2 months to issue the titles. Then it took 4 months to get to site for us (we had Christmas break in the mix) Places Vic took forever with our developer approval which held us up getting to site. Maybe look at a 6 month lease which has option of going month to month? Or look at moving out now and getting a 12 month lease? My land titled after 20 months, new estate and bought in stage 1. From title its taken two weeks for developer approvals on engineering plans. I am told 3 weeks to handover to construction (1 June) and another 4 weeks to slab pour (approx) .. So that's roughly from title 2 months. I am planning for a Christmas finish I hope it does not any longer. Such a long wait! 7th_Calvary I think you might have to start having a back up plan. Worse comes to worse a colleague of mine was in a similar situation and ended up living out of a caravan (not great if you have kids).
