We've asked a couple of times, they won't fix on a new estate. So far they are the only builder to use piers in gen fyansford, Geelong homes looked to be doing a traditional raft slab until they added waffle pods on top yesterday, so its a now a waffle pod with deep internal beams?? Apart from that everything looks pretty standard for Geelongs clay soils. It unfortunately seems to come down to the opinion of the individual engineers on how they deal with class 1 fill. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 23May 05, 2016 10:02 am That's a bum we could get fixed but maybe that because we were an extension not a total new estate. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 24May 05, 2016 11:07 am Photos are back! Did you ever find out what the finsbury tile was called? No one at Beaumonts had any idea when we asked. At this point I'd pay just to have something I've seen laid. I have major anxiety about picking a tile with so much variation having not seen it on mass. Last week I had convinced myself it will be ok then we went to the Address estate in Point Cook to see the new allure display and saw a few houses with tiles with a lot of variation and I hated (strong word I know) 2 out of 3 of them! And the 3rd I just disliked . But I know I love the Finsbury and the Signature display at armstrong creek which both have tiles with a lot of colour/pattern variation. So I'm back to thinking I might love it or I might hate it! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 25May 05, 2016 2:31 pm Photos look great. I think we have a finsbury colour doc at home I'll have to have a look. That was one thing that helped us go floor boards that most of the tiles we liked seemed to have a lot of variance between them which made us worry. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 26May 05, 2016 2:37 pm Thanks, we were hoping to get up to Ballarat Sat morning to look at floorboards, but grandparents aren't available for babysitting and our eldest gets back from school camp tomorrow so she will be too sleep deprived and feral to take anywhere this weekend Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 27May 05, 2016 3:20 pm If you drop into or call Rob at the finsbury display he can tell you what the tile is, thats how i found out. Then i called beumont tiles and they told me it was one of there expensive tiles i really like them too. I totally agree about the tiles that have alot of variations i don't like the mix match pattern when its laid i prefer a more flowy matchy tile with abit of texture & movement in it. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 28May 05, 2016 3:27 pm I've asked him before and he thought he had it at one point but he couldn't find it. Its a 500mm tile so will be expensive to lay, but I'd cut something else if I could just have that tile, would save so many headaches. Beaumonts told me it doesn't look like any of their 500mm tiles Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 31May 07, 2016 7:47 pm Thanks for trying guys. I tried last year but never got to the bottom of it. I'm going to take the cretement tile back to the Finsbury tomorrow and ponder it some more. I only had the browner one last time so I'll take both down. We went back to the colour room yesterday to have a look at our bathroom stone. No luck there either unfortunately, we matched our charcoal tile to the stone but the new stone is too blue. So we will have to choose a light stone or change the tiles (which I really can't be bothered with). The samples are too small and it's all too confusing without a colour girl helping. There is a new colour girl in training so we can wait for her or travel up to ballarat to see Jo again. So much has changed I feel like it would be easier to start from scratch with the interior colours . And based off the price he had it wouldn't have been too much more expensive than what we are spending anyway. However it's no longer on the Beaumont site in anything other than 300x600 which doesn't match up with the old catalogue below so I'm not even sure it's the same. We'll chase it up with beaumonts this week but it's looking unlikely that's it's still around. I don't know if that means the 600x300 days are numbered. They don't have any instore at the moment so they've ordered some in, should be in Friday. I'm very curious to see if it actually is the same. The finsbury tile is 500x500 not 520, but maybe it changed at some point. For some unknown reason I prefer square tiles for the living and rectangle for bathrooms but I ended up with square in the bathrooms so maybe I'll go opposite on both! This is the most hope I've felt since I figured out that our original tile was discontinued Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 37May 14, 2016 5:14 pm The building roller coaster continues! We had an amazing incredible development today! We went to Beaumonts hoppers crossing hoping to see something different laid or maybe even cretement. We got talking to a super helpful lady who was determined to find us something, eventually she decides to check the computer just incase there was somewhere with some Adelaide grey, something Geelong kept telling us was impossible. She comes back and asks if we're the McAuliffe drive job! Straight away I'm thinking you're kidding! Turns out our tiles are in a warehouse waiting for us!! We knew there were about 900sq m waiting for jobs but the Geelong store can't see what jobs because they are a franchise. We were told it was unlikely ours were included but to check with jgking. Which we did, and were told a flat out NO they won't be yours because your job hasn't started, nobody actually checked!! Which I was a bit frustrated by at the time but I let it go thinking that they would know better than me. So for months now we have been stressing, spending countless hours searching display homes and tripping back and forward to Beaumonts wasting everyone's time for nothing!! I'm in shock, I keep randomly bursting out laughing, I just can't believe it!
We rang Sarah straight away and she will confirm its all correct on Monday. And we'll get on to kings and make them actually follow it up this time Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 39May 14, 2016 6:32 pm Yeah its amazing! I think the new bench should work better with the adelaide grey as well, fingers crossed, I'll be in to check next week They've obviously got some good systems in place to avoid people missing out on tiles, they just don't know it! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Tile change?? 40May 14, 2016 7:42 pm So what are the new benches I've read a couple times? Have they changed the colour choices? I hope they don't make us chane colours otherwise I'll change everything... Another question, what were your carpet choices like? Did you get a range to choose from or two sorts (cat3) like we did? We had plain or square pattern... The square pattern felt much nicer so we went with that but I'm not sure how it will look all over? The more I wait the more I'm not happy with my decisions! I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
