We are building with clarendon, have paid deposit, waiting on soil tests, plans etc. .what about you? SS is pretty good for Clarendon. I'm nearing completion over the next month in Stage 7. Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 12Apr 15, 2016 9:27 am Thanks bmitchel that's good to hear. How long has it taken you? Were there any unexpected hold ups? Were there any unexpected hold ups? (I'm new to building) We had no activity over Xmas. About 3-4 weeks. Everything up to lockup was going pretty quickly apart from that with decent quality. After lockup it seemed to slow down a bit, particularly around plastering (cornice etc) and the tiling didn't happen when it was supposed to. tiler decided to take an extended break before easter. We had a recent issue where something wasn't right and we had to pull tiles off to get it rectified. My advice would be get inspectors for each stage just in case. You are making a rather large investment. I would also double-check not only your electrical layout during frame stage but also plumbing. I forgot to look at this, hence why tiles are being pulled off. Admittingly, the SS should of picked that up also. The plans also were not right in this area. The diagram looked correct for one of the views of our ensuite, but the actual lengths and values on the diagram were wrong. Look over your plans over and over again. Are you building a single or double storey house? Which Clarendon plan are you going with? Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 14Apr 15, 2016 10:30 am bmitchel... I am actually in Stage 10. There were few hiccups for Settlement. The land estate was quite reluctant to change the dates for settlement even due to their inability to allow for "Soil Test". But everything is worked out now. Also picked up Simonds to build. They are new in this area. Hopefully would have enough ammunition to stand by in area dominated by Clarendon, Plantation and Metricon. A lot of Metricon however. They go up really fast too. Stage 10 looks good. When are they starting the lake already. Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 16Apr 15, 2016 2:18 pm Ya its going big. Stage 10 has lots of BIG size blocks. Mine is a corner 570 sqm block I would be really looking forward for train station to start as soon as possible. Have you been handed over the house already ? Should be in last week of May, or I'm in trouble as my current house settles on May 30th, so have to be out before then. We wanted a bigger block, but based on our timeline, we couldn't really wait for a stage that was going to give that to us. Certainly couldn't wait for Stage 10. We ended up with a 503m2 block in Stage 7, but I'm pretty happy with that. It is going to be closer to the train station and reasonably close to the "future lake" as well. Is your lot on Campbell Drive? Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 18Apr 15, 2016 2:56 pm Does anyone know if NBN is available in our area ? Re: Who's building in Capestone, Mango Hill ? 19Apr 15, 2016 2:57 pm BMitchel. Ya mate. How about you ? Are you on Campbell drive as well ? Howdy all. I am looking for feedback on what people would do to maximise and make an area as flat as possible. First, out the front of the house is a sloping hill, pretty… 0 20509 I brought terry road box hill in June 2022 House was meant to be completed Nov 2023 That did not happen I had to chase them so much to the land Registration and… 0 2777 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46107 |
