Unless there is a defects dispute Re: Builder not paying supplier, supplier taking back stuff? 6Mar 10, 2016 10:24 pm wood bang Have hand over been done? Supplier have right to retain their goods back if builder doesn't pay. Unless there is a defects dispute I wouldn't say it's an official handover. The builder towards the later stage just slowed down and is not finishing off little jobs. But I have moved in regardless and obtained all the council approvals myself. What are everyone's official handover like? Just verbally 'we are done. Thanks and bye"??? What has the builder got to do with his supplier making demands to a third party apart from the fact that your inglorious builder has passed on your private details including your phone number to at least one supplier? 3in1 Supadiverta. Re: Builder not paying supplier, supplier taking back stuff? 12Mar 14, 2016 12:19 pm (builder finally paid off the balance after I wrote a long email giving him sh*ts) So for future forum user's reference, if this happens, does home owners just call the police directly if the supplier does enter the property to retrieve anything part of the building? Re: Builder not paying supplier, supplier taking back stuff? 14May 21, 2016 8:15 pm When the owner signs a construction contract they sign the right over to property access until handover. It's a grey.....and ugly situation Being a builder is more than just having once held a hammer. It's about the trades you hire and ensuring that they give a result that meets the industry standard and the home owners expectations. Re: Builder not paying supplier, supplier taking back stuff? 16May 23, 2016 12:15 pm The builder has left with some little unfinished items. I am tired to chase him up. Should I request him to send me a letter that the house is officially handed over to me? or just leave it as is.
