Can you pm me the company and their location pls! That's a huge gap...is it argon or air filled? Did you use low e on either pane? Also with the tilt and turn what screens if any fit them? Thinking of having them in our meals area where it's a long skinny window Same here. Would appreciate the info on the company. Thanks Re: Double glazing as an upgrade 16Jul 12, 2016 8:39 pm deejay08 Should say not a huge leap on insulation...tender includes r2.2 to walls and 3.5 to ceilings so that shouldn't cost too much to up...but I'll call the window supplier myself on Monday to find out exactly what they've quoted...I've asked a few times but the cso for the builder never answers...they look at me like I have two heads when I say that thermal comfort is our biggest priority! If I was asking for a butlers pantry they'd not bat an eyelid! Our triple glazed windows with low-e glass and argon gas can achieve u value of just 0.8, which, while still inferior to your walls, would offer you the kind of thermal insulation all your friends and neighbours would be jealous of! At the moment, triple glazing is on a winter special and costs just $150 per window under 2.2 sq m to upgrade from double glazing while doubling the performance as measured by the u-value. This represents exceptional value for money and ultimate in comfort: thermal, security, and acoustic. I paid $8600 for 4mm with 6mm argon gap and 4mm is plain toughened glass awning Windows with apparently qlon acoustic seals. U value 4.1 and shgco 0.50 I wanted the gap to be at least 12mm but this is what I have received.
