Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3126Mar 04, 2016 5:34 pm Yes we hired Master Building Inspections again he picked up lots of things like the fall to the ensuite drain not steep enough so water didn't run towards it the tiler had to re tile the area and other things like roof sheets hanging too much into the gutter, paint defects, the top of the front door wasn't sealed with paint, paint runs, insulation not re packed sufficiently around the aircon vents. Luckily all this was rectified in one week!! We didn't pick up too much else most things we picked up during the course of construction they fixed straight away as they arose. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3127Mar 04, 2016 5:38 pm Oh also while we were moving in the NBN Co. Was in the area installing the cables and box to the side of the house. If you're going to be moving soon start organising your internet etc to be hooked up they usually allow for two-three weeks before they come out to install your service depending who your provider is. No internet sucks! Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3129Mar 30, 2016 11:19 am Hiii!!! Lots of people moving in now the suburb is starting to take shape. Our Estate, Avonlee has a FB page in case anyone would like to follow it: https://www.facebook.com/AvonleePrivateEstate/?fref=ts Hope everyone is good, we get to see so many Kangaroos right in the Park eating the green grass right behind our house every evening. They are so amazing to watch. Still getting used to all those black millipedes though, anyone have any tricks to get rid of them! They are everywhere and a couple even manage to get inside. Hope to hear from everyone soon. Take care Nick and Shak Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3131Apr 13, 2016 9:32 am Morning All! Ah I would be keen to hear how people get rid of those black millipedes too, they are totally gross!!! Also, just wondering if anyone parks their car and gets the train to work... I want to know what time do you need to get to the train for/what time you leave the house? currently I am leaving the house about 6.40 to avoid traffic and have been mainly driving to the city! but it is costing way too much so I am looking for an alternative route. I am hoping to drive/ train some days and hopefully cycle/train the others... any info would be much appreciated thanks Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3132Apr 20, 2016 12:27 am Hi guys! If anyone is thinking of getting panels to close the gap underneath your fence. We are using 'plinths' in the same Colorbond - Riversand color and a guy by the name of Ben from Benjicon Contracting is doing it for us tomorrow. If you'd like him to quote while he's doing ours his number is 0457189765. Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3134May 10, 2016 2:03 pm Regarding the gaps under the fencing in the area. We've been looking for a solution to this problem for a while, I found this fence finish mob and was going to post elsewhere on the forum to ask if anyone has used them, they look the goods for what we need. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/ellenbro ... 1110395398 Has anyone used them? Re: Avonlee Henley Brook Perth 3135Sep 14, 2016 8:40 am kavi_15 Hi jamie He will ask you what plan do you have for your front lawn. According to the council requirement we need to have a tree in front of ur house so you cannot change that. Second decide what you want to have at the front. Google a sample pic which u can show to the man tomrw. I will advice you to stay within the $5000 mark as it can be very expensive to get anything done by them. Get your plants, water reticulation, paving stone and grass done by them and you should be well within the budget. If you choose to get artificial turf layed at later stages you can always do that. So get the basic landscaping done and get it out of the way asap. Make sure you sign and initial the plan asap as there is 4-5 weeks time after you give them the signed copy. Hope this helps. We considered Henley early on but there were two factors that… 1 10441 I am not sure whether Perth has its own way of doing things in regards to this. Most of Perth has class A (sandy soil), except for some areas near rivers or hills. 2 13063 1 10997 |
