Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 30Feb 19, 2016 5:25 pm falcon86 Hey Guys, good to see number of capsestoners. I am also building in Stage - 9. But haven't chosen builder yet. Planning to go with Clarendon but due to a corner block, there are so many things to consider. Setbacks are different. Parking and living area needs to be diagonal. Being a first home buyer, its hell of a job to find proper builder and design. Hopefully will be able to sort out before end of next week. Hi, I'm also in Stage 9 (but not a corner block though). I was considering a corner block, but found the designs to be quite restrictive. Have you looked at Custom Design Builders? They can design something that suits your needs. Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 31Feb 19, 2016 8:06 pm Oops I'm in stage 10. Will see which design will suit. So far short listed : Killara 30 from Clarendon Langdon 28 from Matricon I haven't discovered lot many builders yet. This weekend, I'm planning to go to South Ripley to see some more display homes. Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 32Apr 17, 2016 2:55 pm Hi all, We are looking at building with Plantation Homes and was wondering if anyone could give us some guidance on flooring costs. We got the free flooring promotion but it is just their standard range of wooden look floorboards. From what we have experienced in display homes the 'included' ones seem to be more creaky over time whereas the upgraded boards (referred to as crafted) sound better to walk on. Wondering if anyone has had similar experiences and if anyone is aware of the price difference between the boards with plantation homes? Thanks in advance Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 33Apr 17, 2016 8:24 pm DJCJDC Hi all, We are looking at building with Plantation Homes and was wondering if anyone could give us some guidance on flooring costs. Thanks in advance Hi, Plantation tend to use real timber floors in their display homes (at least the ones that we visited). We too got the free flooring option, but instead of the carpets in the bedrooms (4) and the Theatre room, we decided to have the same timber look (laminate) flooring. This cost us about 3K. Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 34Apr 17, 2016 8:30 pm It's been such a long time since I've posted anything about my progress. Here's where we are currently: The land developer took ages to provide the sewer and ASCON reports and Plantation need these reports before the plans can be submitted to the council for approval. We finally got the reports last week and we are hoping that Plantation submit the plans to the council for approval soon. Strangely, the lot next to us is Plantation owned and built and they have already laid the foundations and the frame. Over the next few days, I'll prepare a list of the colour choices and costs, I'm sure it will help someone out there. Re: Carmelle Q2 - Plantation Homes - Mango Hill 35Jun 19, 2016 11:36 am I haven't been active on this thread as I like to be, however here is the latest update: - Slab was poured over two weeks ago (It's funny how the place looks so small all of a sudden. I had to borrow a measuring tape and make sure that the dimensions were all correct) - I met one of our future neighbors and they seem friendly and we have started talking about fencing - I didn't think about extra noggins (or nogs) for TV mounts and extra data points during the plan, so I'm trying to get that organized (if the SS picks up her phone) - I have a SS, however there has been no communication nor have I met her. According to my CSA, the SS only makes contact with the client when it is necessary. When I checked with my future neighbours who are building with Metricon, their SS gives them a regular update every Friday. Whilst the progress has been going OK so far, I get no updates from the SS. Plantation will definitely need to pick their game up on this front - We have a Frame!! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ - Is it common to have nails left in the frame like this?
