Browse Forums DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair 1 Jun 11, 2006 9:42 am Our laundry is outside the main house and 3 of the walls are bare brick. We want to cover the brick using the most cost effective method we can find that we can do ourselves. We will be selling the house in the near future and are just doing some things up to increase the value. Painting the bricks is not an option as this looks cheap and tacky. Can anyone please help? Re: Laundry renovation on tight budget 2Sep 19, 2006 8:19 pm There are types of paint on the market now which give a finish similar to a rendered wall.
Alternatively you could sheet the walls and tile etc. Re: Laundry renovation on tight budget 4Jul 11, 2007 4:54 pm Sounds like plastering or rendering is the way to go.
I would probably render it myself quickly and then paint over the top. Just because this way I can go easily around the sink. I wouldn’t know how to do it with plaster without removing the sink. Coming back to your old stomping grounds, huh? Renovations on a budget can be quite the journey. It's like giving your house a new lease on life. The twist of not knowing… 1 3475 This is a very tight fit, I'm not sure if you'll be able to achieve what you've described. Would you consider accessing the separate toilet from the laundry? If so maybe… 1 11251 Agreed. I just found out today the certifier has not given the final sign off. 2 4090 |
