The master bedroom is fairly neutral. The pendants and sheers are pretty light. I'm thinking the bed head wall needs something to make them stand out a bit more. Any thoughts on wall paper or some sort of feature? Or paint? Hmmm The white cover on the bed is making everything else look more yellow, but it's grey tones. There are quite a few variables for you to consider and will impact quotes you get. Make sure you consider these to compare apples with apples. Our deck is roughly 80m2. 125mm thick, select grade jarrah boards. It's also screwed down with bigger stainless steel screws. The stirrups holding it up are closer together than you may do if doing for someone else. So we've probably added a fair bit of cost but the deck shouldn't move and should look good for a long time - and it's a carpenters deck You would save dollars if using imported timber, or wood composites, having it nailed down instead of screws. Having thinner boards and wider spacing between the stirrups. It took 2 carpenters and a labourer father in law 4 days, numerous baked goods and beer to finish Re: 5 acre dream - finishes photos 364Oct 03, 2015 1:55 pm Looking great Ashgrove! Do you know what linen is going on the bed? Coz that in itself will change the feel of the room. If you are going really neutral then you could do a feature with wallpaper- there are some beautiful ones out there. If I remember rightly one of the girls on here swore by an English company www.ilovewallpaper.co.uk I personally would wait on the wardrobe as whilst it looks very plain now you have all your stuff to put in there yet! It may look too busy? Your ensuite looks stunning btw - love your magpie tiles! Re: 5 acre dream - finishes photos 366Oct 04, 2015 10:03 am Oh thanks ladies! I rather like the look of this... Our king bed and bedding has been in storage 2.5 years and I can't remember what bedding I have... Pretty neutral I'm sure. I'm using it as an excuse to buy new stuff Re: 5 acre dream - finishes photos 367Oct 06, 2015 9:48 pm Everything looks so stunning, your home is beautiful It has all come together so well. Love the idea of the wallpaper, that colour is gorgeous! Re: 5 acre dream - finishes photos 368Oct 06, 2015 10:54 pm Oooh, decorating fun! I do like that wallpaper too, so pretty. What about a big artwork above the bed? And yes, once you have cushions and bedlinen it will look different too. Love your ensuite, beautiful splashback tiles. Dad is home after more than 8 years working away in construction. Once we moved into the house we just didn't have the same desire to work away. we are looking to start a carpentry business with hubby working for himself or possibly doing a bit of sub contracting. Last little job in the theatre is getting our cabinet... then ill show some pictures of our awesome movie room. we are going to hibernate there a bit this week Then I think I might move to the big toy room.... now to catch up with some other builds Re: 5 acre dream - All settled.. lots going on outside 376Feb 07, 2016 8:51 pm Everything looks incredible Ashgrove, looks like you both have been very busy. How rewarding to get so much done. I just love that photo of your baby girl and of your horse Congratulations on your hubby coming home too, you both must feel so proud of what you have achieved and having him home would be a real bonus Looking forward to some more pictures, your home is beautiful Re: 5 acre dream - All settled.. lots going on outside 377Feb 08, 2016 4:02 pm Wow, wow! Love it all. You guys have really been on a roll with getting things done! Are you fencing your backyard at all? We are building on 2.5 acres and I'm having a horse paddock at very back but need a Jack Russell proof fence around backyard, hard to figure out been on a big block and on outskirts of town. Re: 5 acre dream - All settled.. lots going on outside 378Feb 17, 2016 11:03 am OMG Ashgrove!! SO impressed with your horsey progress! And a tad envious to be honest!! What have you used in your arena? And what are you actually using it for? Horse shelter looks great. Ours have all been roughing it for 8 years now. Would love to get some in the paddocks. My OH recently built a foaling down pen in the house paddock which will be awesome for next years babies. Well done guys!! Re: 5 acre dream - All settled.. lots going on outside 380Feb 22, 2016 12:30 pm Thanks guys, the arena is a cracker dust base with riversand top. We edged it with limestone blocks. It will be used for pottering about with ponies in the future and when I get my act into gear - dressage haha. For the doggie proof fence, we have used the black coated chain mesh. We used it across the middle of the block to keep small kids and dogs away from the horses. The reason we used black was due to iron in our groundwater which would stain the normal metal ones. We've started some retic but it's going to take a fair while. Looking forward to getting some green areas around the house and getting rid of sand! I work with owner, he/she is my man on the ground and I instruct them when to visit the site and take photos and I have other tools in the bag. 4 15442 I am in the same situation, would you be able to give some insights in to this? I am in SA 8 17195 Depends what you're current inclusions are, but we're not including wardrobes and will just use second hand ones until we can save later on to get them built. Also have a… 3 11826 |
