Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 33Feb 06, 2016 8:14 pm Our color consultation is scheduled for 24 feb . Things are moving in slow place but I am happy so today we had been to the color selection studio again to check what is included with our builders and what upgrades can be done. This helps us in getting ready for our color selection. I have taken some pictures for our reference but we are so confused with external and internal colors. External: Roof: Bristile roofing Charcoal Bricks: Boral Glenfern Gutters/downpipes etc : monument Windows: Monument Rendering: ??? Internals : We want the walls to be white (big confusion as there are sooooo many whites) but we think Taubmans white spirit would work. Still not sure Walls: White spirit Doors/architraves: Gloss white spirit Ceilings/Cornice: Builders white( I think it is called celing white or pure white) Floors: Laminate Rustic Nougat / Blackbutt Carpet : Cat 2 Jet ( not yet decided) Kitchen: Benchtop: Essastone Panna cotta / new crystal salt / crystal chalk Cabinets: Formica Prestige Walnut / Chocolate Pear Ensuite/Baths Tiles: Milano Latte Matt Benchtop: Essastone New sable luxe Cabinet: Formica Mocha We havent yet decided on the flooring and carpets because we dont know if the colors are working or not. Left side laminate is rustic nougat and right side is blackbutt. For carpet i think it is too dark ( it looks black color in the picture but it is somewhat dark brown). Dont know what other colors of carpet can work out. Any recommendations?? Also we are thinking do we really need to have 2 different benchtops and cabinets for ensuite/bathroom/ laundry and Kitchen or use only one type of benchtop and cabinet across the house to maintain consistency. Can someone also recommend us what render color should be for the facade. The rendering is only going to be on the Pillars of the facade. It is shocking how many things are taken into consideration during the selection. We had our consultation for about 3hrs which was completed in 2hrs 15min based on the previous post few things have been altered and few things we have upgraded. I dont know $$ its going turn out. We didnt have any budget for upgrades in mind but OH thinks that it will be alright On the other note, last year builder had provided us with product brochure of what is included and we had a option to select from about 11 bricks. Today at the consultation they advised that the bricks which we selected are upgrade we advised them that builders has given us options to select out of 11 bricks and the brick which we selected is included. Anyhow they checked with builder for the same and builder responded that it is an upgrade with addtional cost Have contacted the builder since then as we are not happy about it and we need to get this rectified asap. Fingers crossed !!! Here are the final selection for our house. Exterior Roof: Bristile Charcoal Bricks: Boral Glenfern Mortar: brite n lite mortar (Upgrade. they should just call it off white or something) or should we stick to Natural mortar. Gutters, down pipes : Monument Fascia: Dune Windows: Dune Pillars Render: Dune Door: Hume XS45 with Translucent glass (Upgrade) (black Japan Colour) Garage Door : Timber look garage Battens/cladding: Timber stain(black Japan colour) matching to Entry & Garage door (upgrade) Interior Walls: Taubmans White Spirit Doors/Architraves/skirting: White Spirit Gloss Ceilings/Cornice: Builders white Flooring: Rustic Nougat Carpet: Cat 2 - The Vines - Sisal Loop Pile Underlay: Cat 3 Kitchen Benchtop: Essastone Panna Cotta Overhead Cabinets: Formica Gentle Beige Gloss (Upgrade) Base Cabintes:Formica Chocolate Pear Splashback: Gloss Cream Tiles Grout: Canvas 69 Upright Cooker: 900mm Euro EP90DMSX Rangehood: 900mm Euro EA90SX Dishwasher: 600mm Euro EDV600SS Sink: Franke Double Bowl Sink Bathroom / Ensuite Benchtop: Essastone New Sable Luxe Cabintes: Formica Chocolate Pear Wall Tiles: Sandstone Almond Gloss Wall Grout: Canvas 69 Floor Tiles: Milano Latte Gloss Floor Grout: Truffle 72 Laundry Benchtop: Formica Bliss Shi take Wall Tiles: Sandstone Almond Gloss Wall Grout: Canvas 69 Floor Tiles: Milano Latte Gloss Floor Grout: Truffle 72 I think I am satisfied with the selection now because i got my OH to select it With few inputs from me Also got a notification from the builder that the soil test is completed, the permit has been applied and the plans have gone for approval to council. Cant wait for the building to start Hopefully everything goes smoothly now. We too like the bricks. We didnt want to spend fortune on the bricks so went with included bricks but there has been some issues with builder not including the bricks in our selection and they are counting it as an upgrade. Hopefully they rectify this small issue for us. Y0u R tH3 Cr3@t0r 0f y0Ur 0Wn R3@L1ty So still no slab and apparently the concreter cancelled.
