They said if we need to make any other changes apart from cosmetic then they will need to change the process and do up a preliminary contract for us to revise before colours and add another $3k to deposit. This will add an additional 6-8 weeks on so need to avoid this to get the ball rolling and get this house built Re: Building with Metricon 870Dec 22, 2015 4:23 pm kylz4 Just heard back from Metricon and they are going to accommodate my final changes of leaving sliding doors on robes and re adding cavity sliders to the ensuite Phew! You would have thought the carpenter would have gone "Oh, this doesn't look like it is right" when he went to frame the front and would have called the SS before fixing it together... nope Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ORLANDO 28 - SYDNEY Re: Building with Metricon 877Dec 23, 2015 4:11 pm Eventually I got my copy of the signed contract, updated drawings and external colour quote as variation. All changes are captured. It tooks 1.5 weeks which is much slower than their promise (48hours). But this is a remarkable milestone and a good wrap-up for 2015 LOL Merry Xmas & Happy New Year everyone! May i know who noticed this issue? Our ss said, we don't need any inspector because M has team to inspect every stages. Re: Building with Metricon 879Dec 23, 2015 4:40 pm Throughout our build we found there were numerous issues that we had to inform our ss about. Even then most were not actioned straight away. As a result they had to do more to fix the issue as the build progressed. At PCI we had 87 defects. A lot of these issues could have been rectified earlier if proper checks had been in place and our ss had better control of our build. My suggestion would be to keep a close eye on your build.
