My builders' sparky said that C-bus isn't worth installing these days. The other advantage of z-wave is that it's wireless and you can incrementally install it with existing wiring (like I'm doing). You can even get z-wave enabled door locks. The Vera controller is also programmable (if you're that way inclined), and can interface with home brew electronics The only gotcha is that z-wave units for Australia work on certain frequency, so don't be tempted to get them imported unless they're at 921.4MHz. So you're going to have to pay the Australia Tax Re: Cost of Home Automation 7Nov 27, 2015 8:36 am Not really. Protocols and systems like z-wave (X-10, Zigbee) are complimentary to C-bus and build on c-bus, but it isn't a replacement for c-bus. Where protocols like this will replace c-bus are in integration to devices, take the C-bus HVAC thermostat range for example. Building Standards; Getting It Right! 1. optional, you can but normally just use the earth from the main switch board 2. should be enough but the distance determines voltage drop - sparky should work it… 1 28912 We already paid for somfy motors for the blinds. The quote above was purely for “pre-wiring” so the blinds company can install the motors and blinds. That’s why we… 5 16638 7 12117 |
