As there is a risk of tile cracking as it is not thick enough to use as a coping. Unfortunately for us we got outdoor rated porcelain tile for our outdoor room, with a plan to get the same tile for pool surround and coping. However found out that was not recommended, so now looking to get a paver pool surround. If you are keen to get the uniform finish for the outdoor room and pool surround, you may want to use a pavers for both. Good luck viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 16Nov 10, 2015 8:34 pm Franky40 Hi MinandB, Just a word of caution, with the pool coping most pool companies and installers will recommend you stick to a minimum 30mm paver rather than 10mm porcelain tile. Hubby and I have been debating what to do. I want a light tile but he loves black granite. Something like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm a bit worried it will be too hot around the pool area. The pool shop said we could do black granite and then do a strip of artificial turf to break it and try a grey gum granite in a French paved look. We need to make a decision soon. It looks very sharp, we have a dark greyish alfresco tiles and as the pool is right next to the alfresco (1.2m away) we are tossing up with the same issue. My preference is to go with a white sandstone with grey veins as it would contrast the alfresco tiles, or go with something darker.....decisions, decisions viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Landscape Inspiration & Design Concepts 19Nov 11, 2015 7:38 am We are nearly the same distance away from the alfresco 1.5m but have a dead space of about 2.5x5.5m to the side of the alfresco. Will have to draw up a landscape plan I think.
