We got the switchboard put in the garage so if something trips we don't have to go outside and around to the side of the house in the dark to reset it. My personal experience is that electrical things always seem to trip at the most inconvenient times ie at night when it's raining!!! I do not understand why tile shops do not advise builders to do this as standard Wish I'd known this earlier! (Thanks to Andy Knights from GroutPro for the information) Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 917Oct 26, 2015 12:00 am kremlin27 kumargaurav83 Hi, I have 2 questions here:- 1) How important is the single phase surge protector for a single story home? can someone point me to some links which can help me decide if I want it or not, it is fairly expensive 1) How important is the relocation of the switch board from outside to the inside of the house (keeping meter box still outside)? can someone point me to some links which can help me decide if I want it or not, it is fairly expensive I will post more as I come across more. Knockdown and rebuild - Sahara Q2 with Henley viewtopic.php?f=31&t=75715 Good idea. Also whilst it's useful to add more circuits than what seems to be standard with builders (4) which isn't enough in this day and age. We ended up with 9 and also crossed Length ways and half ways across our house so at any time if something tripped we'd still have power and lights somewhere. Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 918Oct 26, 2015 10:50 am Crazyk Petad Something the hubby and I never considered, we have been getting quotes for floor coverings and today the sales guy asked how low/high are our doors from the floor and to ask the builder to get the carpenter to shave them x amount so that the doors will open smoothly so we won't have to shove the door open.(we are getting a plush pile with thick underlay) Yes and if you are getting ducted AC you must have a gap under the door or the system won't work properly Never asked this, but i planned to do ducted ac after hand over. Do builders need to be told to leave a bigger gap below the doors than normal for airflow purposes? Or is there some other reason Re: Things you forget - summary page 32 920Oct 26, 2015 12:09 pm Crazyk Builders are supposed to do a lot of things they don't. From memory standard is 10mm max Is 10mm max space sufficient for air conditioning? What is the standard minimum though? What is the impact on ducted ac with insufficient clearance.
