We have decided not to concrete our side path as our council has too many hoops to jump through about the hydraulic design of it. Quach Why can't you keep the bricks if you have paid for them? Everyone It appears the floor tilling was the only work done in the last two weeks so they have certainly taken their foot off the pedal on our site. Have tentative date for next inspection in 3 weeks and maybe handover 2 weeks after that so I am still President of the six weeks club. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1248Oct 11, 2015 3:52 pm We have bathroom tiling done kitchen, scullery & vanity cabinetry done. Painting not yet complete. Some skirting missing but we do have a water tank. Looks like they may have been working most days. Fingers crossed this trend continues. Big Mama they are certainly dragging their feet on yours. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1249Oct 12, 2015 7:15 am Quach, our contract said that the builder takes any unused materials (clause 11.4). I asked at contract if they could modify contract to let us keep some extra roof tiles or bricks and was rejected. I think the idea is that you pay for what it takes to build the house rather than paying for a set number of bricks/roof tiles. It is a shame though. We have kitchen cabinets! So excited to see them. Maybe vanities too but as we don't have a way to see upstairs we can't know. Saw in last visit that they also had to change our stair hand rail a bit, which is unfortunate. Would be nice to have been told/consulted. Re: Building with Kurmond Homes 1250Oct 12, 2015 1:30 pm ![]() Quach, our contract said that the builder takes any unused materials (clause 11.4). You are right housesformouses, it does state in the HIA building contract that the builders unused materials are the property of the builder, and we pay for the house not for all the materials to build it.
